It would, since coordination is key to Teamgames, like you said. Wether or not it would be accepted and used in a good manner is another thing completly.
You have to keep in mind, that the general learning courve in CoH2 is harsh. You need quite some time, experience and luck to get to the meta.
high four- to five-digit Rank players often fail at the very basics and voicechat whould not make it any better i fear, but be a rather disappointing experience often.
Beeing able to coordinate with your teammate would certainly add a lot in randoms, but after people have aquierred basic knowledge about their game.
Kinda Off-topic:
To your spoiler, I would rather see an in game chat function during the loading state, so you could do that early planning prior to launch.
The unit is currently nuts as it stands. For an upgrade cost (literally for free) you can lock infantry, armor, and aircraft out of the map at the place you decide. And it comes out early. With fuel transfer this sucker is on the field by the 10 minute mark.
I don't understand why allied players have so much trouble with this building. If any OKW player is bold enough to put this building so far ahead of his lines then he fully accepts the risk of losing it as well. I often play teamgames and when people put this building forward on the frontlines it's ALWAYS a huge risk for them. Soviet Zis guns and american 57mm AT guns make short work of these buildings in no time.
Seriously? If there were no OP OKW troops to deal with, you'd have a point, but the AT guns take too much time in lieu of the blob that'll come after them. Cost for cost, OKW has the advantage and still more flexibility.
I dont know why its in the game. Its completely pointless. No faction should have access to such thing. Good luck breaking a Med truck + Flak truck combo. It simply locks down a part of the map and ensures the OKW map control whereas the others have to try to maintain it actively. Even Ostheer. And Ostheer doesnt get Obers.
I never understood what the fun of larger teamgames is.
I always enjoyed the smaller skirmishes the most, nothing beats the tension a good 1v1 or 2v2 can provide, with things escalating. Tech choices have more meaning, in 3v3 / 4v4 youre usually rushing to your heaviest armor ( as its pretty easy ) and camp from there on. Ofcourse larger teamgames will be axis favoured. Because its easier to stall and tech.
Honestly, go play 1v1 if you want the most balanced and skill based option there possible. Go play 2v2 if you enjoy playing with someone else while maintaining reasonable balance.
And above all, dont take losing too seriously. I did for some while and it did kill the fun i had with this game.
Oh, and relic, its time for a patch. Like seriously. A big chunky one. Announce something ffs.
I prefer 2v2, but I can't get a teammate worth a flip most of the time. I only started playing 3v3 and 4v4 to increase my odds of getting better teammates.
It doesn't matter, though, the SOP for axis is the same. Hold the line, get critical mass of vetted troops and the OP tanks then steam roll. The double shreked blob is a anti-inf & anti-tank force and, of course, the Panthers and OP Super-tanks of Axis shreds armor. USF has to micro 3 forces to fight the 2 in hopes to win: Riflemen with BARs and M8s for anti-inf and the tanks for anti-tank. But all Axis just does is an attack move, no micro required.
Aaaaand another one not understanding basic math... if anything, what you mean is % of players searching. That's a big difference, and as some people have already shown, % of people playing axis is likely <55%.
What's it matter when the BULK of the players searching are Axis? That means there's more people SEARCHING who will be PLAYING. 100 people searching the game mode, 96 of them are Axis and only 4 Allies. If more people are searching/playing, then more of them are going to be seasoned players.
Why every day starts someone a thread about that is OP oh and ofc that is even more OP, or even IMBALANCED Why people need all those dsicussions can somebody tell me please? i can´t get the point of it, for me it just sounds like little childs having lost their lolly.
3v3 and 4v4 is just scrubmode to have some fun and trolling around, so who cares about crap? Just start playing 1v1 or 2v2 i mean where is the point complaning about 4v4 random a mode filled with braindead Zombies? There is nothing, it´s not the game, just dumb people.
2v2 is worse. Still the same mix of people playing and then I have worse odds of landing a good Allied player. So, to your point, all the people that want to win play Axis, leaving the "dumb" ones to play USF. So...again, the balance is shown by the number of people who only search one side (the easier OP'd side).
True. Players like Esexile will not understand this though. They only play one faction and even if he has streaked 6 wins with USF in 4v4 RANDOM (repeatedly claimed to be worst-worst), he still complains because him winning can then only be explained by what an utter pro-player he is *cough cough*
No need to defend this bs, we all know COH2 players prefer Axis and will always pick Axis. As someone mentioned above, the WWII franchise will always have German fan boys because they have "cool" and powerful army.
At the same time, Allies require more coordination and micro to play the game. The beginner will have the hardest time using USF/Sov than blobing VGs with shreks. I stopped playing randoms Allies bc of WFA, before it was more fun and somewhat balanced.
If anyone wants to play Allies than he/she should just play with a arranged team. simple. guarantees win most times. fun to wreck Axis n00bs and talk shit.
That's BS. The only way to win games is to have a stacked/arranged team? A) Again reflects the imbalance and B)Not everyone has the luxury of having Steam "friends" to play with.
This game has such team unbalance BS it's hard to keep playing. Play my a$$ off to just watch OKW just hold the line until their blob reaches critical mass/vet and the OP tanks roll out to win. I have to micro like no tomorrow to keep up with the no-micro-needed OKW players with the OP T0 units, OP 'nade variations, etc. only to lose because they get vet 5 blobs with rockets that never miss and always score 100% damage or MP44/sturmgewehr rape-guns for anti-inf.
I love team games and not much a 1v1 player. I'm to the point of just sticking with CoH1 and playing Homeworld when it's released (not a Relic hater), but CoH2, buh-bye. Relic balance team, y'all have a lot of work to do; otherwise, it won't be too long before that searching says "Axis 100%, Allies 0%"
Axis are a safe bet. Put up a frontline, keep your squads alive, upgrade shreks/lmgs, hold on until mid/late game and win with one push. No brainer.
Allies need to be agressive and dominant early game. That requires skill and a brain.
I agree with you on the Axis SOP you laid out. And Axis is more forgiving all around. Even less micro required. Allies, you definitely HAVE to play better, where Axis, you can slack until the (more) OP units come out.
IMO, OKW is like best of PE and Brit from vCoH, all rolled into one.
I started a dedicated thread about this issue, but it got locked. Reposting here:
For the amount of suppression a Kubel does, it should not be that mobile. IMO, at least have a longer set up/un-setup time like an HMG. HMG weakness is flanking, and it's slow time setup and move. Kubel doesn't have that weakness.
And Sturmpios, a T0 unit, should not be as powerful as they are. Sure, they should own a fellow T0 RE squad, but not a RE AND Rifle (T1) squad! Bad balance if you have to use muni AND two squads to defeat ONE T0 unit.
And I don't mind Falls popping out of buildings anywhere, but to have their Uber-guns at the get go? Now way! Make the guns an upgrade like in vCoH.
And finally, USF NEEDS a late game counter (Pershing anyone?) to Axis late game tanks.
Because spamming 4-6 rifleman, then blobbing with bars and hoping to god your Ltd. light armor can squad wipe a couple axis units and win you early game EVERY game, is not a fun way to "diversify" and "combine arms" your army.
The matchmaking search is 90% AXIS 10% ALLIES most of the time for a reason, people do not like playing allies.
Who agrees?
You're right, people don't like playing Allies because Axis is the easier side to win with. If your strat was so bullet proof, more people would play USF.
