Balance wise, most of time you see factions balancing each other, OST vs SU; OKW vs USF but UKF got no counterweight and its current design has migrated far from its original one, UKF is no longer a emplacement faction but a semi USF+OST mixture. I'm not arguing UKF are useless but picking the same two doctrines on 70% of the map pool that isn't crossing in the woods is hardly entertaining is it? Try playing against assgrens and pgrens without assault Tommies some time. And yes Tommies now are on a similar level with grens after years of nothing but nerfs apart from two single minor buffs (tiny moving accuracy buff and 45muni Bren). Tommies need to be more similar to rifleman OR Brits need some assault infantry if you ask me. If I was a fanboy I would be here defending emplacements but I've actively been campaigning for their removal in place of a more USF and ost unit roster. Go check my post history, you'll see me calling out certain top "players" that have used nothing but UKF cheese to boost their ranks. In: COH2 Balance

Oh wait they do, ostheer are not limited to ONLY grens compared to Tommies like UKF are so reliant on. But UKF are now stuck with gren level infantry and nothing else unless you lock yourself out of key doctrinal tools like heavy tanks. Nobody wants to pick land mattress or m10 commander every game just to have a chance of remaining competitive on any cqb maps. In: COH2 Balance

It was designed for a completely different tech structure, and in the current lineup it's a little redudant. It's a fast-firing anti-medium tank specialist like the StuG, but it's in a tier with the OKW Panzer IV (which beats mediums and kills infantry) and the Panther (which can take on just about anything). The JPIV is only really the optimal choice against tank destroyer spam, which makes it a rather niche unit. Furthermore, the JPIV's low penetration can make it a risky pick: with the plethora of viable heavy vehicles now available, it risks being rendered ineffective by the enemy build. The same is not true of the Panther, and the JPIV doesn't even have the saving grace of being able to fall back onto anti-infantry duty. [Thoughts? My thoughts are your claims about the units role and it's performance are misleading. Can P4 reliably counter Churchills from 60 range on crossing on the woods? Current JP provides a lot more with its RoF and 60 range. You can even beat more expensive allied TDs in 1vs1. I am not saying your thread is totally wrong, but insisting it can only counter allied meds is just wrong. You build it on long range maps, urban maps you also have the option of more mobile panther. Stock it can struggle against IS_2, but by the time an IS2 is on the field it will have unlocked it's powerful RoF buffs. These are non doc tools allies can only dream of. And if you're gonna give it the option for extra pen at a button click you're gonna have to nerf the vet it unlocks In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Spotting scope vs commander sight 16 Oct 2019, 05:55 AM Spotting scopes are a totally different ability to UKF tank commander If you are going to compare UKF commander to anything take a look at OKW elite armor commander.(which is also a LOT better than its allied equivalent, but that's OK as it fits the doctrine) Spotting scopes are something you put on 222 or elefant for crazy view range due to great base and vet LoS stats. Scopes are not something you put on medium tanks like tank commanders. Basically you're using it wrong. In: COH2 Balance

PzIV H for instance that is premium for Ostheer does not make allied mediums obsolete. Panther is expensive and sucks against massed ATG wall? Who would have thought. It's a good thing it comes in a tier with rocket arty then isn't it? Something Brits can't say the same for comet. Panther is fine and so is P4. In: COH2 Balance

Silenced sten guns were not the norm at all This could possibly be brits version of obers or pgrens in a overhaul patch. Interesting idea for more infantry diversity considering ALO model is not really used. You could give them unique Enfield profile that fires quicker and although is inferior at long range, is much better short and mid range. Similar to penals or pgren. I don't like the Vickers because it's unhistorical, bren guns were much more common and look more cool. In: COH2 Balance

No it can't "counter all" If your opponent has managed to tech hammer AND blow 230f on a croc it's your own fault if you can only afford Pak and shreks. By then you should have a tiger or TA of you own. Even if you were losing and behind in tech you could easily afford double stug which spit out enough DPS to hard counter it easily. In: COH2 Balance

You have to react to each and every situation differently. If I wanted to play a game based purely off of mechanical skill I'd play starcraft. Tbh I'd prefer more crit shenanigans like the original COH. This, RNG is coh and its what makes watching and playing it fun. Go watch that vonivan compilation on the homepage and then imagine how BORING it would be without the crazy RNG that goes on every once and a while. Current 221 will remain at current stats in tier 2 but only has access to mg upgrade. 222 can be built for a mirror cost of the AEC fuel, armour ,pen and health buffed to AEC level to match So you think current WASP is balanced and is used competitively? Got any games from top players to back that up? Let's not derail already talking about Ost. 222 was non existent like current WASP before it got buffed and had a higher fuel cost put on. WASP at FHT timing is better suited for the unit. In: COH2 Balance
