You are supposed to face the healthpool and armor of a Panther way BEFORE the Panther can arrive and it so just happens that this tank hard counters anti tank guns AND has a main gun with penetration equivalent (and superior at close range) to normal mediums The StuG is the natural counter for KV-8 and KV-1 alike. If one is not enough watch two of them obliterate KV-1/KV-8. 50 range plus decent penetration is all you need. Its probably the most cost efficient TD of the game, what else do you want? The problem is that axis players got used going for PZIV first because of its great AI damage. Since KV-1/KV-8 both come out a little bit later than PZIV soviet player can safely build them if he saw your PZIV already. A PZIV isn't the best choice versus any KV obviously. So if you see KV-1/KV-8 on your opponents loadout you should watch out if he uses other commander abilties that will lead to KV-1/KV-8. Don't rely on ATGs alone, consider building StuG(s) because they can't be countered by combination with Katjusha. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - British Feedback15 Apr 2021, 12:17 PM The problem with Command Vehicle (as with many other commander abilities) is, that it is not in Royal Artillery Regiment or Mobile Assault Regiment. This two always rank top in loadout with the exception of 1vs1 where Land lease is at first loadout place. Although Command Vehicle can be quite strong if you gather enough fuel to get Command Vehicle and two Fireflies, it is just not enough to compete with the need for indirect fire options at UKF. But I do think it is still the main selling point of Royal Engineer Regiment which has some additional useful abilities and thus ranks between 3 and 5 at loadout rank. Tactical Support Regiment is so bad we don't want to talk about it. In: COH2 Balance

Most players choose a t-70 beforehand which is an optional investment and for obvious reasons delays the t-34. I'm really tired of this myth that the p4 comes out earlier than the t-34 as it'd only be true if the t-34 is locked behind t-70, which it's not. I never said that the T-70 is mandatory, i only said you should get out a T34/76 before PZIV if you don't build a T70. Look at the fuel costs. Ostheer reaches T3 building at 145 fuel if skipping all other buildings and light vehicles. Soviet gets T4 building at 185 fuel if skipping grenades, light vehicles and second Tier building. In reality Ostheer will build one building at least and Soviet will go most probably for grenades or for other Tier building. Either way the difference between Ostheer T3 and Soviet T4 is pretty much the difference in fuel between T34/76 and PZIV without building a T70. So there isn't much of a Time Window for T34/76.. By no means player should be able to get one at the same time enemy can get its first medium. I always thought soviet T4 should be split in a T3,5 building and a a T4 tech upgrade. In the building there is the T34/76. It is available before Ostheer can bring out its PZIV (if you don't build a T70). All the other tanks and Katiusha come after the tech upgrade. That way it would really make sense to push for a fast T34/76 (as an alternative to a T3 T70) that would have a time window to get some kills before the first PZIV arrives. If T34/76 would be a little bit more attractive in its timing this alone would delay all other soviet tanks. If that is not enough you would have the option to increase T4 tech upgrade by 10-15 fuel. It deserves a big nerf in 1 or 2 of the following stats: - HP. - Armor. - Price. - Pop. - Rotation speed and acc. - Speed. - Penetration (I see a lot of shots penning Panthers frontal armor. Maybe 4 out of 10). - Limit to max 1 per time. 3 out of 10 hits penetrate Panther at long range (penetration of T34/76). On the other side 8 out of 10 Panther shells penetrate the KV-1 at long range. What is even better: If you stay between 41 and 50 range with your faster Panther 0 out of 10 KV-1 shells should penetrate the Panther. I wonder which tank will win in KV-1 vs Panther duell... I really understand why people complain about the matchup KV-1 vs PZIV (wheras PZIV should come out earlier) but Panther? Really? I prefer T34/85 nevertheless. All allround it is a way better tank than KV-1. In: COH2 Balance

The only problem is, if this really becomes meta it wil promote artillery spam since artillery is the perfect counter versus immobile units. 3v3/4vs4 has already too much artillery war, anything that promotes artillery is a bad move for the game. Destroying howitzers was already really hampered by removing al lot of the 100% howitzer destroy abilities from various commanders instead of just moving them to other commanders. In: COH2 Balance

If your tank isn't snared and you move it, it shouldn't be much of a problem. A lot of shells will hit where you were a second ago. In addition AT overwatch is only at two medicore commanders, so its really not a problem. I do think the pinpoint abilities which hit infantry are a lot more annoying since infantry is to slow to evade. It is always retreating or getting wiped. In: COH2 Balance

JP4 beats every allied TD in 1vs1 situation. I wonder why noone uses it but me. In: COH2 Balance
