Can we please still fully remove the early warning flares?

While they are not a no-brainer spam anymore, they are still neither counterable nor do they need any preconditions. There will ALWAYS be an interesting front line sector for artillery. And on some big maps the sectors are still very large.

At the moment it is more like the "old" OKW flare with restrictions but cheaper.

That would be fair and consistent. I'm saying that although playing more allied than axis. Any flare should be short ranged and bound to a unit.

One does not get the 76mm for fighting infantry, they have 75mm for that, but for fighting vehicles.

76mm is quite good at fighting vehicles with it penetration/accuracy values are above other tanks of its class.

You clearly not getting 76mm for fighting vehicles but for beeing a generalist tank that can fight vehicles and infantry alike. For fighting vehicles/tanks both faction with 76mm have a clearly better nondoc alternative in M36/SU-85 which come in the same tech. 76mm (and E8 too) are only worth it if they don't fall too far behind nondoctrinal options in AT and AI.

At Land Lease it has to compete with combo of T34/76 for AI and SU-85 for AT. While I can see its use in AT because it has some advantages over Su-85 (primarly its turret and mobility) its AI performance is way worse in comparison with T34/76. This is the reason Soviet players will choose T34/85 if they want a doctrinal generalist tank option. T34/85 has the same AI as T34/76 plus some more advantages over Su-85 (primarily turret, mobility and survivability).

At Mechanized 76mm has to compete with the nondoc combo of M4A3 HE shells for AI and M36 for AT. With the double nerf to RoF its AI value got hampered so much that it is falls far behind AI value of M4A3. In addition there is not really any advantage over M36 which is quite mobile and turreted by itself. That is the main problem of 76mm and E8 too by the way.

You are locking out indirect fire options, elite infantry like Paras or Rangers by going for 76mm or E8. As long as this two tanks are no real alternative for nondoc tank combos this companies won't be competetive.

Imo both tanks need an AOE buff as I already suggested.

I do no think that your start about 76mm AP round are correct.

The AOE values are similar while the scatter value in not worse for 75mm AP Sherman (they are probably better).

Thats the reason I mad a "=" between M4A3 standard shells and M4C standard shells, they are probably about the same. AOE is exactly the same for both, while 75mm has slightly lower scatter angle (1,5) and 76mm has slightly less max scatter (1,2). Both shells suck at killing infantry in comparison to other generalist tanks. E8 isn't very good either (same bad AOE) but has the best scatter values overall.

Either way it is not that important if M4A3 standard shells are slightly better or slightly worse, since M4A3 uses HE versus infantry, and that is clearly the best AI shell of all generalist tanks.

Still my argument stands, that the bad AOE of M4C is such bad because its RoF was so high and could buffed with combined arms by further 30%.

So I see three options (depending on the balance the mods want to achieve):
1. remove them completely and exchange with other commander abilities
2. rework/tune combat role and CP requirements
3. make them buildable structures that are not depended on maps

.> 2. While Soviet FHQ is very strong because of it early timing (1CP), Ostheer (5CP) and UKF (10CP) struggle a lot more. Both have the problem that at their timing there are weapons that can destroy buildings quite easily. This is especially true for UKF version, since you have simple one-klick-delete abilities around that timing to destroy the building which can't evade, brace or get repaired (if it survived). That is punishing. I do think Ostheer and UKF version should be either available at maybe 2-3 CPs with limited abilities which get unlocked one after another by gaining more CPs or have some form of a chance to not getting destroyed outright by weapons that are potent versus buildings.
-> 3. Its in the game at Soviet FHQ already, there is an alternate buildable version for maps that are low on buildings. Maybe its just a little bit too easy to destroy for its price but it is there.

Now lets be fair with the 76mm Sherman. Its basically an solid upgrade to the normal Sherman for only 15 fuel. The normal round is slightly worse than HE in terms of AI but much better against armour.

He-Sherman has AOE of 4 with a far damage of 16, normal shell of 76mm has AOE of 2 with a far damage of 8. This is not "slightly" but worlds apart... 76mm covered some of this huge difference (not all of it) with a faster RoF and thus was a swarm alternative to the standard combo of M4A3 and M36, especially when used with "combined arms" in the right moment. Thats pretty much gone now.

Lower RoF on 76mm Sherman is a small price to pay to have this versatile and fun commander.

The biggest problem of the Company is that it is not very versatile. It relies heavily on an early LV push followed by a midgame Sherman push which is timed with combined arms. It has no tools if that ends without success.

There is a reason the Company is so low ranked in multiplayer loadout pick (last one in 2vs2/3vs3/4vs4).
