They used mirror balancing. It was boring but could easily have been expanded on for a “Battlefield 1944” game. Do eastern front, 1943-45. Soviets and Germans have multiple classes that have weapons that are “default” and exactly the same as each other, but you can unlock new guns that are open to both sides. Same goes for vehicles and vehicle upgrades. I’m a gun guy with a love of historical accuracy in games, so I know these aren’t exactly the same, but they could be portrayed as being close enough to be the same. MP-28 SMG for both sides. Unlocks-MP-38/40, PPD-40, MP-34, PPS-42/43, PPSh-41 M91/30 and Kar98k, plus sniper versions of each plus many many other variations and real life upgrades. SVT-40 and G43, unlock G41(w), G41(m), AVT-40, SKS-45, SVT-38, MkB-42, MP-43/44/StG-44 Walther P-38 and Tokarov TT-33 unlock P-08 Luger, M1895 Nagant revolver DP-28 and MG-34 with drum. (Very different in real life but if you tweak them they can be close enough to not be unbalanced. ) Unlock MG-42 and many others T-34/76 and Panzer IV upgrade to long barrel PIV and T-34/85 plus skirts or top gunner etc StuG III and SU-85 (many upgrades) KV-85 and Tiger I IS-2 and King Tiger Be-109 and MiG IL-2 and Stuka Balance and realism isn’t hard to do. But Dice wants to throw history out and do whatever they want. I used to love Battlefied, but I think I’ll pass on this one and wait for a new Brothers in Arms game. SKS-44, In 1944 Soldiers of the 1st Belarusian Front used SKS-44, the soldiers liked this carbine very much, but there was some of complaints after which SKS-1945 appeared. In one American book it is stated that American soldiers found German documents on the testing of captured SKS in 1945. About the game - it's bad: - A ton of bugs, luggs, server breaks. And this is two months before the release of the game. - game design and balance of weapons - STG-44 OP and is available as the first weapon, self-loading rifles - no one will use them. Some people get offended by thing like that. Designing the Commissar is bit tricky since one has to avoid a "doom blob" but still make him useful. Nobody is inspired to attack after his comrade was shot by the Comissar. Such a Comissar was most likely just shot down by his soldiers. Here is the real Comissar: This is the commissar of the 220th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Rifle Division of the 18th Army. Replaced the wounded company commander and died, lifting the fighters in a counter-attack. He died a few seconds after the picture was taken. In: Lobby

So what would we have, Vietnam and Korea? Afganistán? Remember that COH franchise tries to stick to some sort of reality, I'm not confident in seing Relic inventing a war between USA and Russia. I don't know what will be coh3 but I think that we should think about game modes and gameplay than period of war. The entire period of WW2 could be used with the appropriate game mode and design. COHO reinvented COH in its time and Coh3 should take that direction. Reality? Reality and a CoH2 single company? In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Alternate Settings for Future CoH Games10 Sep 2018, 11:33 AM - Operation Unthinkable: The Allies, supported by the remnants of the Wehrmacht, attack the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc which have a lot of German weapons / tanks / planes from the Wehrmacht and transferred by the Soviet Union. - Caribbean crisis. a very cool time period: a lot of technology close to the Second World War, but there are early jet planes and helicopters. The Zis 3 was divisional light arty (basically same role as the leFH) - which also had its capacity as ATG, but it was not its primary intended goal. Not really, since 1943 ZiS-2 has been standard. But ZiS-2 lacked in the required numbers and the shortcomings were compensated with the help of M-42, ZiS-3 and Lend-Lease M1 / 6-pounds (400 pieces in total). Until 1943, the capabilities of the M-42 and ZiS-3 sufficed against any tank. In: Lobby

The M-42 was already ineffective in 1943, but was left in production because it was light and it was easier to transport it by the crew on the battlefield than ZiS-2/3 and had antipersonnel capabilities: the weapon was supplied with a fragmentation grenade (53-O-240, 53-О-240А) and a case-shot (53-Shch-240). All this "new" stuff like commander reworks done by modders/community, there wont be any new models, at best modders could only reskin some stuff. Then let Relic give people expanded tools for modding - this will be a real gratitude to people who love the game. Give me a break from the Soviet propaganda. I looked at a lot of information. From the test documents: In the tests of 1927 - the penetration was checked on inch boards supplied 1 inch. In addition to firing at 700 and 1000 steps. Here is the data: The penetration: shooting was conducted on 200 steps, (12 rounds): 1, 2 and 3 boards broke through all 12 bullets. 4 th - 8 bullets broke, got stuck - 4. 5th - broke through 4, stuck 3, rebounded - 1. 6th - broke through 0, stuck 1 and bounced - 3. When shooting at 700 steps - a bullet punches a 1.5 inch board. When shooting at 1000 steps - a bullet punches a 0.5 inch board and gets stuck in the rear of the inch board. Give me a break from the Soviet propaganda. You may not believe it, but the M2 Carabiner is an analogue of the TobarevLight Carabin, both use a revolver type cartridge. And the M2 has a greater range of fire and more penetrating than the submachine guns. In: Lobby
