On that specific situation, not. At those ranges, PG have 100%-50% more DPS in combination with RA.
Eh what situation are you referring to mate? here is the deal why should i use expensive pg's when i get more flexibility and firepower with the flmethrower pio's? in fact some higher level players you see players going straight for the double flame pio's and rarely bother with pg's.
Its simply a question of cost efficiency. and the pg simply do not have it. @australianmagic if i put a lmg gren squad their the results ( the soviet player was also terrible) would have been the same with less mp loss. if i want a powerful close combat unit then i take the pio with a flamethrower.
Twice now I have faced IS2s with no armor and raketens and they are awesome! Because of the cloak I am getting them to half health before he even knows whats happening. Yay to slightly more combined arms but now I feel OKW is just infantry tactics till you have enough fuel for 2 tanks then roll over the enemy. At the moment with the speed of firing and cloaking its a pure AT god.
Could OKW now afford a slight increase in price for volks shreks? (I personally hate facing and using blob tactics)
Mate the entire point of the volks was their vet not their AT. And the raketens are still nowhere as usefull as the pak
This is not rhetorical, it's just of the last 5 autos I played in 1v1, 3 people were using this and I only defeated it once. It wasn't even the strafes that did me, I dodged most of that (got caught once due to pathing issues constipating my sherman; got hit a couple of times with destroyed engine or something similar but that's fair enough), but the SWARMS of LMG grens and PzShrek teams are just fucking disgusting. All that and mines everywhere too. Some players are less mines, but then compensate by spamming the crap out of rifle grenades.
Between the strafes and grenades I feel like this doctrine requires twice the micro to counter than any other doc. Like a neverending quicktime event, Press U+Click to not die.
Your lucky that you have yet encountered a competent luftwaffe supply player in my opinion its 10 times worse.
Well, its more about synergy. Brummbar as first tank will suck but when you combine it with AT, its amazing. It denies infantry with at nades, it can deny at guns etc. Brummbar+Panther is better option than 2 Panthers.
Synergy is always good. but i find the ostwind + panther a better synergy as the ostwind has the mobility and turret to tag along with the panther when its flanking.
If i compare this unit to all the AI tanks in the game this one is the worst for cost. i either it needs a buff or a fuel reduction. its not that this unit is worthless far from it but simply provides far to little for such a price tag.
GG but the brumbar really did nothing for you when it comes to the 85 part. the first 85 he lost because it ate a teller ( hooray it didnt bug ) the second one he tried to flank but your pak and panther where in position.
the third one he lost because he charged your pak panther head on and ate a heat round. the 4th is a lone 85 trying to defeat a panther at long range with pak support. the only real impact the brumbar had in those fights is that chaos foolishly squandered his mark target on the brumbar.
in total the brumbar did 2 squad wipes all of them could be avoided because it took the brumbar 2 shots. once again im not really impressed by the performance and a ostwind could have been more useful.
The ostwind is far better in the AI role then the brumbar. a brumbar can do a lot of damage in a single shot. but it needs to hit to do so while the ostwind will simply load another 37 mm round in its gun and keep firing. Also the brumbar rarely squad wipes unless units are clumped up.
While the ostwind can kill a spread out infantry squad in a single burst and chase them down if needed. when it comes to offence the ostwinds ability to flank and get behind the AT guns makes it once again better. In my opinion the brumbar needs 70 range for me to ever consider buying this very underpowered unit.
"just dodge" is terrible advice. On maps like Rails and metal, its 2,5-3secs since first red flare.
Is it enough to dodge? Yes but only if you see this first flare. During battle, when you for example putting Rifles behind cover, its almost impossible. You need 1 sec to match unit/click hotkey and another 1sec to reverse. Its fine when you see flare. Its not fine when you see flares with 1 sec delay.
On the other hand, railway-artillery needs 10secs (?) and cas needs 3secs. Its bad design if one off map is useless and second sometimes is undodgeable.
And try to escape with ambulance
All this complaining has made me playing this doctrine. And i cannot say im impressed by the results. Perhaps i was playing against a really aware soviet player but he managed to dodge my strafes with his Sighted isu152.
