i think this patch must be pretty balanced because theres a high frequency of all factions being called OP so far.

Sturmpioneers are completely fine, and I'm baffled as to why you'd think they aren't. Like Katitof said, it's a mid-range unit equipped with Assault Rifles, not SMGs. The fact that SMGs beat Assault Rifles in close range makes sense and coincides with realism.
Like a said before, if the assault engineers keep this kinda of fire power then at least give them a thompson SMG. In that case it looks normal that they can beat a assault rifle up close.
Btw because a squad have a SMG does not mean they are "better" than assault rifles in CQB, in this case a stg44. stg44 was the best gun in war, and it had bigger rate of fire than m3 grease gun and mp40, and 3 times bigger muzzle velocity. An thomspon SMG would be alot better choice for assault engineers if they gonna keep this cqb power. IMO |

Kubel are too strong for his price, he can kill and suppress, have good range, he are mobile. In open maps its nightmare. Now its are car of blitzkrieg. In my games kubel have more kills and vet than MG.
Well, if they nerf it even little bit that would be the end for OKW early game, because sturmpios are nerfed and raketenwerfer is even worse than before... 1v1-2v2
M3 will be a hell to OKW if they nerf the kubel and leave sturmpios in this state.
Btw units in green cover will give a hard time to kubel because it takes aloot longer to suppress it, so con/rifle in green cover versus a kubel, kubel should lose unless RNG do some sh*t.
I would be okay if they give a kubel/sturmpios a old stats prior this patch, they worked good together. |
It's not as simple as "Assault Engie beats Sturm Pio...outrage!" It's "If you let Assault Engie maneuver into pointblank range without incoming fire while they do so, they can win."
A "blob" of Assault Engie can be suppressed by the terrific MG42 suppression AOE or you can take individual squads out of action with the kubel while supporting infantry stay back and focus fire the advancing ones.
TL;DR: Sturm Pio = great durability + good damage at all ranges. Assault Engie = bad durability + great damage up close
2 different designs -- 2 different intended roles.
Very big post that say's nothing. On field, u can outspam sturmpios because assault engies are cheaper and u get them at 0cp. And u can beat sturmpios easly with this cheaper unit if u dont rush them across red cover. What the hell is that sh*t about suppresing by terrific mg42? Is that a joke or what? Same thing for the rest of that post, what's that supposed to mean? Is that a proof that they are not overperforming for their price? Because u can suppers them? Or you are saying how we are supposed to deal with them? Because that is very specific situation then.
They are OP now, at least give them a thompsons SMG so it looks normal, not that a CQB situation m3 outperforms a stg44. |

Wrong again, I've been murdering M3's with a Sturm (starting unit) Volks, Kubel, Volks opening. Usually on;y the first 3 are in the fight when M3 arrives, the kubel buff makes it a beast now, when it doesn't decide it wants to randomly spin.
The Okw AAHT is a known "bug" but Relic seem to not care. Again a known bug with grenades.
So what happens when after m3 sniper hits the field, or god forbid he puts flamers in a m3? Before u could out micro it and destroy it fast with some luck with two sturmpios. M3 will be first unit to get in battle if he goes that strat and that it makes very hard to prepare for it, because u will need everything that u have to deal with it, if he used a little micro on it. If m3 flanks a kubel he will die so fast it wont matter that even u have a pak mounted on Kubel. |
Then OBW early game is broken beyond all reason. Now for soviet the M3 is enough for OKW to piss blood. U need fragile raketenwerfer that will hit every possible object before it hits target, and will aim for 4 seconds while target sits in front of it. And since this patch it scales even worse because u need double exp than before to vet up. What a POS patch. U want sturmpios to kill that m3? Well too bad they can't do shit now. A fast tip for using OKW AA HT, dont ever click to shoot at specific target while set up, or u will wait another 4 seconds... No HP nerf for soviet snipers? What a POS this game became, bunch of incompetent guys in charge of balance... This is just a OKW early game, there are so much weird balance for all factions. This game is broken...
Even UI goes trolo on me sometimes and it wont react on retreat and throw grenade since forever.
Panzerfusiliers same shit, order to throw grenade and nothing happens. Lost a half squad before i press retreat because they didnt throw it.

It would be easier to just revert the change so they could be competitive again. Not only did this change devastate the entire utility of the Sturmpioneer, it has practically annihilated the entire Sturmpioneer + Volksgrenadier synergy/dynamic. Where Volksgrenadiers were cheap meat shields taking attention and damage while Sturmpioneers moved into mid/close range to deal damage and flank.
Hell even Soviet Shocktroopers have these values as of June 30th 2014! (This date being the last time they were officially tweaked.)

Yeap, for their price and reinforce cost/speed they are bad now. It was great to use them with kubel and volks, with some micro could stop a 4 rifles with ease, if i had grenade on volks.
Well it is weird that m3 is so much better than assault rifle now, they could give to USF engines a thompsons, that will maybe be little weird in design that USF engies have thompsons, still better than the m3 outperform a stg44. |
actually i would have recrewed the MG if he didnt steal it, he was very quick to the salvage and i coudlnt get there in time.
what other weird things can they salvage? can they salvage functioning vehicles with no crew? ambient vehicle wrecks built in to the map? barbed wire? emplacements?
Support guns (mg, mortar) armor that was destroyed during match if wreck is still there, abandoned vehicle for 15 fuel i think. U cant salvage wire, lol then i would spam free wire then salvage it Same thing for emplacements and... and wreck's that was put there because of map design.
