Three Kingdoms was a huge success and Warhammer II is ridiculously popular with a very positive community and great DLC/FLC. Arguably Rome 2 and Atilla weren't as great but they seem to have really turned it around in the last 3 years. Before that Shogun 2 and FOTS were also great games. I agree with you that Shogun and 3K were good additions Personally I just hate how much wasted potential exists with the series, after Napoleon most players (me included) just wanted that layer of polish with Empires scale and possibilities. Sega and CA certainly have the ability and resources to make that happen. Instead we got that whole Rome 2 mess and milking the players with DLC (not talking about FoTS, more blood DLC and factions that should have been in the game at launch) and reused assets for Attila etc. Then SEGA brought the warhammer licence and focussed on fantasy titles in a series that is about history. I can understand fantasy fans happy about that (I like 40k myself), but it should be it's separate IP away from TW with its own separate team. In: Lobby

New employee review15 May 2020, 06:30 AM That quote from the former employee complaining about the "old guard" resistant to "new ideas" seems worrying to me We all know what such "new ideas" took the direction of DoW3 and gave us a poor MOBA clone. Hopefully Sega keep the CoH formula and these newbies don't turn the series we love into a WW2 themed clone of whatever is flavor of the month like battlefield did with battle royal. As such "new ideas" in corporate speech is looking at what makes the most money in the market and trying to get a cut of that action by copying it and screwing as many of your returning players as possible. I'm actually really worried about CoH3, coh2 was a complete mess with DLC on release. SEGA have been messing up total war for a while now too In: Lobby

Like a lot of other units, it seems pretty good in certain situations. Skippy was fighting over the center VP, and used it on squads trying to cap. Part of using it was just the threat to units trying to cap. At some point, the other team didn't have a choice but to chance it as their VP's were dropping. Used like that, it got a lot of kills and he was never in danger of losing it. It ended up being a pretty good game to watch. Skippy ended up losing because someone managed to get the bottom VP for just long enough to win 3-0. Nine less seconds and the other team would've won. Dane casted a similar game 1vs1 recently, Brit player comet stalled and OKW player built ST and IR HT for LoS and wiped a squad running into VPs with every shell. Double ATG and fausts kept the comet at bay. Eventually all the Brit had was tanks and Engineers, ST is best used on these long "stalemate" fronts where you can wipe calling squads from FoW. I feel like AVRE is worse in that regard to lower range but turret allows you to shoot retreating units pretty easy In: COH2 Balance
Thread: OKW vs Brits in 1v1/2v215 May 2020, 04:56 AM This "strat" was tried a bunch of games in cohrona tourny, I suggest you watch the replays on YouTube. Pretty much every OKW player that countered it just used standard 4volk luch/puma and call in inf (fall, jaeger). Even if he builds AEC you'll have four snare squads to his one on RE so you can really pull off aggressive plays with the luch and puma. Hell some players are so predictive you can just start with a puma and dive the inevitable AEC that turns up to cover his lack of AT/snares. PFC punished kimbo in the tourny with this, allowing him a smooth transition into P4 and obers like you say that are so effective. In: Strategy Desk

What you conveniently seem to leave out is that a bunker has 480 HP while FA has 700. It also has 10 armor instead of 35. A forward assembly with medic cost 200 hundred Manpower and 60 munition and can do what medic/command bunker can do for 300 manpower/120 munition. If in your opinion bunker is fine by me but the healing IS is way better than the one grenadier have. Not every detail, I never claimed that. But relevant stats like survivability should be compared. Armor is irrelevant because all common counters and threats to these structures like rocket arty will penetrate 100%. Hitbox size and health should rather be mentioned instead. Because these things make a difference when a stuka ze fuss barrage lands on them (a common theme in most games), armor does not. In: COH2 Balance

I don't see any reason brit medkits should stay exactly as they are The HQ option has some bugs still unless i missed a hotfix, which should get fixed I would be fine with meds getting removed from tommies and medic FA getting mirrored with ost bunker in price. Maybe even remove Pyro tommies and Sniper pyro, give RE pio LoS, mortar in T1 and give UKF land mattress stock at hammer tech. Then brits could have a build order without 3 tommies (or buggy medics). Some would say this is removing the flavor from the game but if making brits an Ost clone is the only way to keep them competative and stop the Axis crybabies lets go for it. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Medic heal on Grens13 May 2020, 17:12 PM Jump back to quoted post12 May 2020, 23:02 PMthedarkarmadillo its not a concrete fucking bunker designed to hold the front by its lonesome. put it behind a shot blocker and use it as a forward staging area. the arty has decent enough range that if you placed it well enough it cant help when you get pushed. for setting up in base you are right that the bunker is better simply due to cost, but you get a lot more outof the FA thast makes it worth it on the front as long as you use it. hell just not having to run to base if you wanna grab a bren is great. Where did I claim it was a "concrete bunker"? I basically said it's vulnerable. It's better than Ost bunker in teamgames but also is a rocket magnet and dies pretty quick for how expensive the medic and retreat point combo of two FA's are. in 1's you just stick both of them next to a HQ for healing, in this regard I think the Ost bunker is better because it's cheaper. Compounded by the MP brits have to sink on upgrades. In: COH2 Balance

You can reinforce and arm your infantry from it and as vip said call in arty which can be very useful. It's kind of a number of things smooshed into one and priced accordingly. Regardless, mobile aoe heals for dirt cheap is somewhat stupid frankly. Forward assembly actually has a bigger hitbox that vipper conveniently ignored The thing costs an arm and a leg to upgrade and gets blasted down pretty fast. This is also why the arty ability you listed is useless, the short range and fragile nature of the FA makes it unusable because even a rak shooting at it will be out of range. Not saying FA is bad, it's better than med bunker in team games. but as Brits I would swap it with med bunker in 1vs1 in a heartbeat when every 100mp here or there counts. Especially with the 450ish mp you need for Tommies upgrades. Which goes in with why vipper was wrong and my original reply, Med bunker has the edge in 1s and FA has the edge in team games. It is free but you need to be outside of combat and manually click on the squad to heal. 2. You could also click on a crawling "killed" soldier and "add" it to your own squad for a manpower cost. This procedure would have no munition cost. Such heal would be unique to ost not a copy of UKF heal. It could help with recrewing weapons after an encounter as ost often is left with 3 men squads. It wouldn't be too strong imo. Just a "nice touch" to existing healing. It still would be much less effective than UKF heal but still sort of "occupy" vet slot. Healing crawlers into a zombie entity of the gren squad would certainly be interesting, but it may be a lot of coding and outside the mod teams capabilities. I like it, it would also have counterplay as allies can shoot or blow up crawlers. In: COH2 Balance
