Thread: Riflemen and M1919.21 Aug 2020, 01:09 AM I'm not sure how I feel about Riflemen. They had been buffed a year ago with better close range dps which was badly needed but still have a few problems. This unit has no abilities that you don't have to pay extra to unlock, don't have to vet up to get, or don't have to pick a doctrine to use. Double BARs are underwhelming. A BAR and an M1919 works pretty well but there's only two mediocre doctrines that have that. I wish more doctrines had the M1919, like Rifle Company if not just making it a standard upgrade for the faction, maybe after teching to Major. As for Riflemen themselves the only thing that I think makes them seem not that great is that the whole faction relies on them at the start of the game because there are no other viable starting units for the faction and infantry like Riflemen are easy to counter at the start of the game. Ost has Osttruppen, Assault Grens or even MG + Pioneers into Panzergrenadiers that works without the need for standard Grenadiers. USF has no viable opening moves that don't rely on Riflemen. Kinda sucks. In: COH2 Balance

( That's also why you got paradrop as OKW ) Edit: Just remembered that USF also has Pershing ... so yea. Simply forget my words I think so. That's why USF is such a garbage faction and OKW is OP by comparison. I say include the Scout Car with the existing units. USF has by far the worst starting game of any faction, they could use a boost there. In: COH2 Balance

Most of the time PIV is misses, because of the move penalties. I mean it might have been neede but presenting it as "THE FIX" makes it look funny. Probably now some individuals would say "SEE JACKSON ARMOR WAS NERFED, NOTHING WRONG WITH IT". But hey, PIV wont deflect at max range frontally against jackson now, yay. Not like its the worst scenario situation you can put your PIV but still. Oh I forgot, only mightly German AFVs are supposed to be allowed to bounce shots. How dare a USF unit be able to do that. The idea that the Jackson needed ANY nerfing is so laughable. It only serves ONE task, how dare it be good at that. If it were a good against infantry like the Panther, King Tiger, Panzer IV, Jagtiger, Elefant, I could see how it might be a problem and need a nerf but it's not In: COH2 Balance

Atleast the crew needs to go. It's not really cheaper than the Kubel at all. It's 200 + 45 munitions for the ability to defend itself, I don't know anyone who doesn't get the upgrade. The arty barrage isn't even available until Major and without it there would be no reason to build one late game. In: COH2 Balance

I'd imagine the reason is the same. USF doesn't have a friggen Panther or King Tiger as part of it's standard load out. The Jackson is literally the best there is and it's a one trick pony, nerfing it is nerfing the whole faction which has basically been nerfed since day 1. In: COH2 Balance
