Yeah, the disgusting initial infantry design, have two starting main infantry units, because of which they begin to interfere with each other and come up with ridiculous roles. This shit is need to stop, need to combine the Conscripts and Penals in one unit.

Reason of these "root of evil" in initial SU design as versatile combine arms faction, where SU have few narrow specialists squad (snipers, su-85, katy, maxim) and all other units could do both AI and AT works.
But we are all see which problem such decision now create - su-76 was cheap and have free barrage? Mass spam, nerfed. "Only guards" meta? Mass spam, nerfed. Mass cons with at rifles (times when AT rifles kill infantry better than tanks)? Mass spam, nerfed. M-42 with canister shot? Mass spam, nerfed. And current situation lead us to way where only real way to play for SU - use specialists squads - penals, shocks, zis, t-70 and e.t.c.

What i want to say - each unit that can do 2 work, only effective in lagre numbers. Relics did faction that have spam as design base. SU should get more narrow specialists, not "good for all, best in-nothing" units. Or we again will get new "spam" soviet meta. Penals must be reverted to specialists, cons must become main infantry with utility abilites to support other specialists units.

I play USF more often than any other faction and would put the need for additional arty options at the very last of my wishlist. Power creep has made rifles not trade well against anything in the early to mid game. USF doesn't have a good counter to a sniper before it gets enough fuel to unlock the M20, and even then it is more of a soft counter than a hard counter. I'd really like the start of the game more balance, particularly against OKW (which seems a worse matchup than OST at the start), and then a more accessible sniper counter.

I have very bad news for you - late game arty couldn't help you in early-midgame. It also couldn't counter in early-mid game snipers.

Wehrmacht also didn't have the wonderful 105 and they had to go up against emplacements. And free trenches.

You about brummbar? Or doctrinal howitzer? Trenches now could be occupied by any units not only brits as it was earlier. Use flamers under smoke or mortars to make sitting in trenches less profit to your enemy.

Sov inf just honestly needs a rework. Move penals to a doctrine as that fits them. Thematically it makes no sense that the soviet union outfits their traitors, criminals, cowards and "wrongthinkers" with their quite rare and expensive weapons. Penals as elite inf is the most silly thing in Coh to date.

I say you more - if you as penal got wound in battle, you are automatically return to regular regiments as normal soldier. In game penals got wound everytime, but never can be turned to regular soldiers...Relics logic. This behavior of penals, like in game, were normal for german penals regiments - where you can't returned to regular regiments, only death or end of war could dismiss you. But who cares about history details...

What about penals - i said it already, they must become narrow specialists squad (close combat ppsh unit with satchels or ptrs squad), while cons must be main infantry and work in pair with them to get maximum profit.
But current situation with endless reworks and buffs allied and german infantry did cons total trash. If earlier they could work, but now they too weak, volks and grens beat them as got upgrades (volks cost only 4% more and could beat them even without upgrades). Maxims that supposed to work with cons - trash. Weak HMG lead to situation where you can't support your weak infantry...
And only way not to lose field pressure - use more expensive and more tougher penals. All hail T1! Rest in piece T2 and cons.

It was designed to be slightly better than the SVT upgrade, because the SVT upgrade comes a lot sooner. SVTs are good for the early-mid game, while the 7th man is better for the late game.

This "slightly" not cost losed field pressure on early-midgame. Dealed damage from SVT will give you more experience for cons and make your path to lategame less "stressfull". From these arguments con007 don't looks shine, right? Because without SVT, it will be looks as i said before (say Hi! to Pgrens and volks).

well one has to consider that the 30% DPS boost per model isnt the only advantage here... also consider the:
20% veterancy bonus (which allows cons to hit vet 3 faster)
+1 model (80 HP and 16% more DPS)
and most importantly

17MP reinforce cost

TIMEFRAME!!! Veterancy boost useless, overall upgrade looks as tiny attempt to do from cons something more neither canon fodder and your MP drain.
What i will say to pgrens (don't forget that they will arrive much sooner than before patch) and volks - "Can you don't push me until i will get my T4 and make upgrade. Thank you." SVT from airborne you will get on 1 CP.
