The only one that thinks the SVT is an enigma that lacks a weapon profile and mystically exists outside the game design is you.

Pls do not pretend to know what the majority of people think of the SVT.

Regardless what you think the SVT in game is semi auto (carbine according to Relic) yet it was changed by the MOD team in their first patch not to follow the carbine profile of other weapons like:
G43 PF/Grenadier
M1 riflemen
RE carbine
USF crew carbine
elite m1 carbine paras/ranger

for no apparent reason and with disastrous result I might add making Penal completely broken (SVT/Flamer/ourah) for 6 month.

I've already explained how the SVT profile works, but you are set in your ways and refuse to understand. It's literally a semi-automatic rifle profile but slightly flatter.

That comes in contrast with what you posted a couple of post before:

It still has a DPS curve, one very similar to Grenadiers Kar 98k in fact, with the biggest difference being the near range being at eight rather than zero. An SVT-40 profile for G43's would improve them at all ranges rather than just up close.

K98 is bolt action and SVT is linear up to range 6 where it become flat.

Fact remains that other carbines weapon have curve in their DPS profile while SVT does not.

As I already have pointed SVT is the exception so if there is a need for change it should follow the rest of weapons and not the other round.

Unless one want to complete redesign carbine profile and change all the carbine weapons. Even then the result will simply to reduce the effect of relative positioning is small arm fire something that should be avoided.

And what dose a useless ability Armoured Vehicle Detection doing in sov shock army now??

Vehicle detection has been buffed.
It replaced recon so that the commander will not have the combination of strong off map and recon.

Surely that means you advocate giving them M1 Garand DPS at close range? Of course the alternative is that their close range DPS remains the same but their mid and far range DPS drop dramatically, becoming even lower than Conscripts at far range, that couldn't possibly be what you're implying. The SVT-40 is fine, and the Jaeger G43 may benefit from a damage curve like it.

My point is that linear DPS profiles are not optimal and Relic had a reason for using curves instead of lines.

Pls do not get me started about Penals especially since this is OStheer thread. (they are badly designed in sort)

At this point ostheer G43 is a lost cause and it would easier to simply replace it with a new squad.

1 cost 300 and has 2 weapon slot + tier 4 upgrade bonus

the other cost 295 and 90 mun has 0 weapon slot, and is weaker early game

at close range is literally up to the last man alive


honestly can we have a real explanation on the changes to further nerf PF for no reason since they aren't even cost effective as penal (especially late game with the reinforce bonuses)

Penal are actually 290 now.

Again 76mm is a very good tank I would take it over PzIV J any day.

The same circular argument was used between with KV-1 and T-34/85 finnaly fortunately the mod team decided to nerf the KV-1 instead of buffing the T-34/85 and continuing this vicious circle.

The question one has to ask is not why do I would one pick the T-34/85 over the 76mm or the KV-1 that is Commander meta problem. In the end people will pick one or the other.

The question to ask is the 76mm OP compared to what it is facing and that balance issue not a commander meta issue.
