I thought it was only for slot weapons (picked up ones and the LMG42 upgrade) Sort of, in cover bonus is 3 times higher than out of cover but only 1.5 better of theoretical. The DPS of K98 should look something like this: Theoretical (does not apply )--->2.42/1.86/1.49/1.20/1.07 No cover--->1.21/0.93/0.75/0.60/0.53 In cover--->3.63/2.79/2.24/1.80/1.60 In: COH2 Balance

EDIT: Just to be sure: Slot weapons do not benefit from the in-cover bonus? ostruppen are a weird fruit. The have higher accuracy but have 50% penalty in all weapons. Their DPS out cover is much lower than what you get theoretically by the stats. The penalty basically cut the bonus in cover bonus in half. Imo not even sure why they use this weird mechanism. You remark are also completely off mark. 1) This has little to do with buffing USF since it involves doctrinal unit, it has a lot more to with buffing one of the most popular USF commander which happen to be airborne. 2) Upgrade does not only mean the airborne paras get "free tech" (which one might or might not have teched but now one has even less reason to do so) bazookas, they also get: Camo/first strike bonus the ability to upgrade AT in the front-line without having to return to base The fact that Ar Paras do not come with support make far more suitable for front-line drops. In sort the change makes Ar Paras a move attractive and that support paras and will lead to even more dominance of airborne commander over reckon which is the opposite direction that this patch should be aiming. Airborne is the USF commander that need buffs the least. In: COH2 Balance

And "Field Engineer" or "Field Sapper" section are good name for them. Not need to be as bad and dirt cheap as osstruppen but rather more affordable and faster deploy than section. I will take a 250mp 5 man squad with rifles and 25mp reinforce cost, models stat same as stock sapper. Some perks that fit them well may include: - Take No/less extra dmg while repairing (Viper suggested) - Faster repair on emplacement (viper suggested) - Tear dowm emplacement for better refun. Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - Ostheer Feedback23 Apr 2021, 07:41 AM The direction osttruppen are going is simply wrong. They become more more alternative grenadier instead of support unit. The have become no that great as crew for support weapons. Once more I would suggest to lose the LMG upgrade, concentrate fire power in 6 entities is not a good design. An upgrade that remove the cover mechanism might be enough to remain relevance in late game. One can also test changing target size to 1 and adding the 1.25 target size modifier to cover allowing the unit to become good crew for support weapons. In: COH2 Balance

Airborne is already one of the most poplar USF commander and does need to be buffed by allowing the bazooka upgrade to Paras. Neither does it need to overlap more with reckon. Step might be need to close the power gap between the Reckon and Airborne commander. Thompson access to support paras might be in the right direction bazooka access in the wrong direction. The main issue with support paras is the bundle with howitzer and one should consider removing that possibly making support paras call-in unit instead of paradroped one. In: COH2 Balance

PzIV commander with Puma being the vehicle that gain the most from it. This combination has always been a problem and imo it is about to realize it and removed the C PzIV from the commander (or the Puma...) In: COH2 Balance
