- reduce price to 500
- add supperssion in AoE 1.5-2 times bigger than actual explosion
- add instapin to any squad that got damaged by explosion
- add 100% chance of crew shock to any vehicle
Suppression and Stunhit should be able for all howitzers, not only for B-4. But in lower radius and lower time count (for stun).

How can you not understand the difference between Stuka divebomb and onmap artillery?
If the opponent pays attention, stuka divebomb is a waste of munition. If not: his problem.
Against onmap arty, you can only guess when and where to move your units.
Well, that's not really so. Even with all those time and with that sound of dive bomb it's still problematic to avoid it. You, obviously, can't instantly hear it (specially in a middle of micro-required combat), find, where is area of drop and move out all units. Specially it is hard to save weapon teams, nearly impossible.
B-4 strike is way weaker against infantry, so - it won't be problem to save your squads from shell. As I suggested - let that shot be way louder, maybe have same falling noise as dive bomb (or some other specific) for your enemy could understand "here comes big boom, need to move my vunerables". Maybe, precise shot shell should fly little longer, than usual one for to make it more real to save your units.
Onmap arty, for that benefit you wrote, has it's own weaknesses. You can't shut down "off-map" ability, but you can shut onmap static howitzer, and it is really simple. Off-map ability doesn't require from you 600 MP and other spendings. And of course, for 600 MP Im getting not only ability, but also unit itself. But seriously... spend little more ammo for bomb or spend 600 MP, spend time for vet it up and spend ammo for weaker than that ability - off-map ability looks more effective and cheaper in that case. |

I played against you using it, and it actually destroyed multiple okw bases in our team. So what do you even want.
Well, if Ostheers are able to have such "super OP" arty, in face of Dive bomb, why USSR shouldn't have it?
I don't suggest to make B-4 UberOP, but it definitely should be buffed, cos worse than that howtizer is only Sexton.
I think, most reasonable would be to give precision shot back, but in nerfed version - no "blind" shots in fog, higher cost, louder boom!, 1.5-2 min cooldown (on ability, not on all barrages). I think, it will be fair and good in that way.
But I also think, that additional (but weaker) salvos for B-4 could also be a solution, for to make that "RNG roulette" little less random.

One is an ability that costs you munnition, second was free Vet1 ability one shooting heavy tanks.
Let's do some math:
1. M1931 B-4 itself = 600 MP. You may lose it by 1 offmap strike in any moment.
2. Vet 1 (since accuracy is very random) - takes from 1 to 4 mins to get. When you lose your howitzer crew - nobody will give vet back.
3. PS ability = 90 ammo. It wasn't free, actually. It costed 40 for mortars, 60 for ML-20 and 90 for B-4. I think, it would be fair to rise price to 120-140, cos... it's really powerful.
4. 10 popcap, pls. And seriously injured MP income.
1+2+3+4 = a lot of resourses to spend and risk with, actually. For less powerful than Dive bomb ability.
Now Dive bomb:
1. No MP spendings.
2. No Popcap spendings.
3. Don't need to "farm" EXP for unit vet, for to use it.
1+2+3 = no real risks for your resourses.
4. It costs more ammo, but it's reasonable - it's more powerful and not depened on very vunerable unit.
As we can see - Dive bomb is actually CHEAPER, than B-4 PS ability. And less risky.

Why not to rip Dive bomb stuka strike then, for to make it even better than best? They are not much different - precision strike and divebomb. Dive even more deadly for infantry, with it's enourmously huge AoE.

This thing shoots outside his aim reticle that's the problem!
That's... not really problem. That's part of artillery mechanic in game, I suppouse, pretty same happend with 25 pounders in vCoH. First few shells always falling outside of aim reticle, little straight far from it. When you starting to get it - it becomes easier to aim it right on target - put circle little lower your target and it will get first few hits with big chanses.
Btw, It looks more random with B-4, I agree, cos it has only 1 salvo in barrage. But... Im not sure, that it should be changed. Better add more salvos or as I said, make snipeshot back, and nerf it a bit. |
It's time to use some necromancy and revive that topic. Sexton going to be fixed (not really, it still will suck) soon, so I think, that B-4 should be fixed right after that.
M1931 right now is Soviet Sexton, seriously. Rarely seen, rarely effective, always causing your lose.
We had here few suggestions, like make B-4 do 3 salvos in barrage, instead of 1 shot, but with less power. Looks reasonable for me. But I think, that "snipeshot" should come back to B-4 and I see absolutely no reason, why it shouldn't come back. With that ability B-4 was worthy howitzer, right now it is random-toy, very ineffective random-toy.
Snipeshot shound't be able to use at fog area, it should obviously cost more than 90 ammo (120 would be just great), and I think, that Snipeshot "boom" of howitzer should be louder, for your enemy could hear it and try to save vunerable targets. Just like with Stuka dive bomb. |

Dude... volksblobs are the best target for my artillery. There is nothing so relaxing, as direct hit right in a middle of volksblob by M1931... Or 2 Calliopes barrage at them.
Seriously, volksblob weren't problem at all, it always had decent counter (in face of suckable (in general) arty). Now, instead of rising power of counter, they nerfing such beauteful target...

In terms of censorship, relic did best job ever with that, much better then traditional *** or %@!^.
When you go to internet, you must always be ready, that your mom will be "plowed" at least 1000 times per day. I just find that censorship ridiculous. Saying curse words by players can be same "immersive" as by units. And it is funny, if you are psychologicaly normal and know, what internet is and who lives here (11 yo momplowers, as you said). |
