If you wanted to say that Rifles become tantkier at vet 3 than Penal, vs small arms, that is what you should had written, but you did not. You actually wrote: "Or vet that makes them tanky. There is plenty things setting them apart." Which actually mean than penal are set apart from riflemen because the do not get veternacy bonuses that make the "tanky". And that statement is actually wrong. (If you spend less timing spamming post, maybe your post would be of better quality, and you would not have to write even more low quality post try to defending your original post with more BS) In: COH2 Balance

Penal are better than most infantry at all ranges Penal will beat a LMG gren ( both vet3, range 35 heavy cover) and will break even PG at close range (even if both vet 3, but they will tear apart PG inf they try to close in and will beat them in range. (and keep in mind Pg are a T2 unit and cost more). In: COH2 Balance

Whatever that doesn't use legs to move around is their hardcounter. I'd say its the adapting as both, lights and suppression excels against them. After all, they are soviet, stock, long range and effective-a combo not seen after first 6 months post release, since first vet rework. Regarding their survivability, its only as good as the cover they are behind, they get one of the lowest rec acc modifiers, they are soviet glass cannons. The one thing they allow is to NOT use maxims as mandatory unit anymore. They are only expensive to buy. They can be reinforced with 20 MP via merge. Going T1 does not mean that soviet are left with out AT option. They are not a long infantry they are good at all ranges and and can fight effectively against axis infantry in any range. Survivability does not have to do with target size (t.s.)/(received accuracy) alone. As a 6 man squad, they have more effective HP then most Axis infantry. Further more their vet 1 ability not only increase their DPS but also their t.s. When they are down to 2 members their target size is down 0.88 which is better than the t.s grenadier have and they can vet pretty fast with their high accuracy and high XP value of their targets. Crushing as a tactic, imo should be more risk reward, currently is more reward than risk in some cases...it can be easily fixed by adding a slow or stun to infantry snares that do not cause engine damage or to hand held At weapon at close range. The fact that Miragefla's mod doesn't contain a fix to such an obvious issue probably means that the fix is not achievable through mods (thus, we will never see this fixed). Actually there is probably a fix. Low the XP value of vehicles to lets say half. Then apply an XP bonus to vehicles of 2. That would have infantry damaging vehicles gain half veterancy while tank would get full veterancy... Tanks would twice xp of killing infantry but that would probably be a lesser issue. It would also help dedicated AI tank like luch, flame hetzer, KV-8... In: COH2 Balance
