in which patch do ypou play??
Jackson is the best nondoc TD. Everybody know it.
Jp4 is slow, has no turrent, low penetration, cant see/spot anything alone (feels like a 30 grad view to front ), is easy flankable and has low accu while moving/ turning
Try both, especially with vet, and then come back. Although it is true that at vet0 jackson is better vs heavies, while being weaker vs mediums than jp4. As for flanking and sight I will take this one as a bad joke - nobody bases the ballance around unsupported TDs. |
They used to spread out and all throw granades at once before rushing enemy position. There are some allied training videos warning against such a move as it used to be pretty common. |
Captain QQ covered most of it, but I will add the things he forgot to add.
As for artillery: Apart from ML-20 and KV2, the game also features ISU-152 when it comes to 152mm artillery guns. The unit is available from about 2 commanders and it is very good at killing soft targets at long range - namely squad wiping. Do not use it in large team games though as it's efficiency is very low if opponents have access to heavy tank destroyers like elefant or jagdtiger.
As for AT: Apart from already mentioned zis guns and su-76 assault guns, soviets also have non doctrinal su-85 which is the best soviets have when it comes to dealing with heavies. Using commanders you can also choose to use T34-85s or IS-2s as your AT. You can also just flank with a horde of T34-76es. Don't forget to tech AT granades for your conscripts, they help a lot by slowing enemy tanks. Some commanders also have IL-2 plane abilites that help with tanks. These are:
1. Mark target - increases damage taken by chosen tank by, I think, 33% and gives sight with a recon plane flying over it. It is available in many commanders, often the meta ones.
2. AT bomb strike is an ability available only in AT commander (the one with conscript PTRS). The bombing strike comes quickly and can deal even with more than one tank if they are close to each other.
3. IL-2 bomb strike - another bomb strike available in multiple commanders. It takes time to arrive so it is good against tanks only if you use lots of slowing abilities or crits. But it can be used that way. It is also good against okw forward bases.
Btw, there is a fun fact about the mentioned propaganda artillery. It can retreat all the infantry squads and weapon teams, even the ones that can't be normally ordered to retreat by their owner like for example AT guns. Vehicles are immune to that ability. |
LUL blacks woman i guess at USA army ? With all this tolerance world go to deep.
These are clearly partisans on all 3 pictures. |
like the sturmtiger ? hell it was meta before nerf, now it can't even hit
Yeah, sturmtiger could use a slight buff as well. |
for isu and kv2 he is right but the others are designed this way
I'm not saying he is wrong, just that his arguments are not convincing enough for me.
These 2 units are actually pretty far from meta. So if he wants them nerfed for consistency reasons, maybe they should get something in return not to fall into oblivion completely. |
I must say I don't get the argument of "If any unit has a single stat better than KT then it must be nerfed". KT is just a tank, not a hero unit. And when you take its stats overall, it is better than any of the units you mentioned, so it is worth its cost. |
I meant that i believe it compounded. Obviously cons were total trash but them bleeding more was the icing on the cake. The pair were just as mobile but one could fight and the other could not. All i was sayin.
I maintain that if cans had remained as they were prepatch but got cheaper to build/reinforce as the player teched they might have seen more use, especially with merge (and the annoying feature of merge sucking the whole squad in if a model drops or something)
If cons were cheaper to reinforce, that would be totally OP. Also I prefer when all squads follow the general reinforcement cost rule. That way it is more consistent. What we have now after reinforcement cost changes to some units is just a mess. |
Which TBH i think was part of the problem with maxim spam and old cons. Why would anybody use a unit that cant fight for shit and bleeds more than a unit that can supress and reinforces for cheaper but costs the same to get? Silly relic
That is why cons got buffed. If we go this path any further than that, we can say the same about grens. And we all know mg42 isn't exactly the replacement for gren squad.
So it's not the cheap reinforcement cost that most team weapons share that made maxim spam a thing, but its old performance and terrible stats of cons. |
Penal have a Target size of 1 and conscripts of 1.087. The difference is target size is less than 9% while they difference is cost is 35%.
Merging with Penal get your conscripts entities an SVT (and some of the highest veterancy bonuses in game) with no cost.
Merging is a good option in most cases (probably not very good is shock troops unless very tight map)
Merging is definitely bad when it comes to weapon teams other than maxims and DShK. Standard soviet weapon teams are cheaper to reinforce than cons. |
