Um, no. The Kubelwagen was made of thin gauge sheet metal. Neither it nor its occupants would have survived driving across an open field against a squad of infantry. The game treats it like an armored car, which it wasn't. In terms of gameplay, it is a lot more annoying than tank crushing. It somewhat forces USF players to start games by occupying houses, which is only marginally more fun than playing UKF and building emplacements.
You are right that if the game was realistic it should be easier to destroy with gun fire but why shouldn't it drive over infantry if it managed to surprise it? Also, generally all units in game, including infantry are much more resistant than their real counterparts. In real battle a squad of 5 men would be killed instantly by kubels mg34 if found in the open or flanked. Same goes for kubels driver and gunner if they were cought off guard by the infantry. Here it is all different to allow player for some extent of mistakes.
What kind of messed up logic is that?
Guess that means that the campaign basically doesnt exist, because most people dont play it.
Campaign is really messed up at the moment. Some changes took effect on it, some didn't and the number of changes through 3 years of games life was so great that it is completely different to what was intended at the beginning. I'm really glad that I happened to play it at the release, since now it would be much worse of an experience.
Generally almost all relic's effort on coh2 is focused on updating multiplayer with emphasis on automatch. It's a fact and you won't change it. The automatch is simply their long term goal, the campaign was beneficial only for first year when you couldn't get it almost for free.
Just for my interest. Why are people not able to do a normal poll without any psychic manipulations?
Many the polls I see on this board are biased as well as this one.
It might be a small thing to complain but it annoys me and it distorts results.
There are even worse cases that tend to be like this:
This fucking sucks guys, please stop it.
Well, this is the least biased poll that I've seen on this forum for like a year... Cookiez gave the smiley becouse people demanded poll on thread named "petition" while you normally don't sign petitions if you disagree.
But generally you are right ofc. Most polls are really biased and this is something to look at.
If crushing is bad, then Relic should completely remove the Kubels ability to push around infantry. Crushing was real (though maybe not so much with open-topped vehicles like M10's). An unarmored Kubel pushing a squad of infantry out of cover is completely unrealistic and retarded. It nullifies good positioning. Somehow, that is okay but punishing a-moving blobbers isn't.
A car pushing infantry out of cover is unrealistic only becouse it doesn't kill, or at least harm, infantry in question Pushing is kind of compromise between realistic behaviour and common sense. I mean it would be stupid if cars crushed infantry like tanks do, right? What would be the point to buy tanks then. So they only push infantry.
Such abuse of game mechanics. I don't think removing infantry crush is the only solution Relic thought of, but it's probably the only real way to fix this.
It should not be kept in because of blobs. Blobs should have better counters than this, like MGs and AoE damage.
I almost forgot how stupid the AI was in vcoh That soldier going behind the tank as it passes and getting crushed on rear wheel looks so ridiculous from coh2 perspective. Even though the I always thought the AI is really stupid in coh2 it shows how far it improved.
Thanks. Well I lol'd 'cause never saw before that some HEAVY vehicle crush infantry and thought they are so slow for that. I wonder if relic decides that pushing infantry affects balance (gardeding pudding i can't fire mah pzshrek 'cause units just 'dancing' being pushing by m3 pls fix lelic) and will make infantry invisible/transparent (noclip) for moving vehicles.
It's better than removing crush completely since heavies can crush infantry if its either trapped by being too close to the wall or suppressed, there is not much speed or rotation needed for that. Tanks like comet and panther also happen to roadkill from time to time. But you are right that this is just making more shallow and noob friendly...
I see that, but the conversation seemed to not understand why they removed crush altogether as a shortcut to faction parity.
Removing crush altogether, though draconian, is at least fair. Leaving wolverines as they were was not. So discussion of bringing back crushing should further solutions for the imbalances it had or at the very least acknowledge them.
The times when a trap has been set, aside, and for the greater number of times infantry aren't hugging the walls of garrisons, it was far too easy to murder with an over performing efficiency. That is all I'm saying. If you follow the rest of my points, I said crushing should be brought back but normalized across factions and toned down with certain tanks.
Ok dude. Whatever you say. You have provided no argument at all as to why that is wrong. But I can't be bothered to continue this debate over such a petty point. So yes I bow down to your inferior argument.
I like how you tripple post in a thread named 'Petition to revert crushing change' Rappy after all this posts you are one of the biggest contributors to this petition.
Infantry crushing prevents handheld at from firing since the infantry are automatically moved and their weapons aren't able to fire when moving. No risk involved. In fact it is far more risky NOT to dive in for the crush when you see handheld at blobs.
What about snares then? They hit the tank when soldier is getting crushed even if he didn't manage to fire.
don't Brit and su have sniper too and the 222 can be killed by an mg even 2 inf squad and can't hit shit ( and let's tank if ost didn't have this unit he would go unarmed not with a blade and the opponent is the KT)
I guess Stug life is not force-sensitive enough then
Guys crushing infantry is cruel, tanks didnt go around running over infantry they shot them with their guns, Relic wants to make the game more immersive by introducing this change.
Next we need to make medics non-combatants while also being untargetable so that we have soldiers that respect the Geneva convention
Out of 5 factions in the game I fail to see even one that respected geneva convention during ww2 And tanks did run over infantry if they had a chance, just were scared of at-nades (just like in coh2!) enough not to close the distance by themselves. If you wanted to make it more realistic you should make the difference between range of tank and nade much bigger, but that would actually make the game boring.
Btw what would you say about medic hunting simulator also known as vcoh?
Playing as ost right now feels like trying to beat some with a gun using a sword only to find out that when you get in range of your blade your opponent is wearing armor and your blade is dulled and doesn't cut
When you think of units like sniper and 222 this blade happens to be lightsaber
