Indeed, after the 1st heavy tank, the cost differences are negligible. It's more about the strats.
My preferred first two is this:
1. Brummbar, Panther (most of the time- I just find the Panther to be more effective against SU-85s/SU-76 sniping than the Tiger)
2. Panther, Brummbar-If I have to clear SU, if soviet goes T3 I stick to Brummbar first.
3. Tiger, Tiger -It takes two tigers firing at the same infantry target to get some good entity kills. Double tigers suffer from slowness and weakness against SU, engine damage, and Zis.
4. Brummbar, Tiger- My least used combo. Good AI but not good enough against AT

You clear bunkers easily:
Panzergrenadiers with Panzershrecks. Or a Pak gun from the flank.
Panzershrecks are OP against buildings, that's for sure. The damage they do..it doesn't even make any sense, LOL. |
The next batch of commanders look even more OP than the last batch. I will probably buy at least 3, LOL! |
Simple question: Would you prefer sending manpower and fuel on having a Tiger or going T4 and getting a Panther? |

The only thing I get elite troops doctrine for is the Tiger Ace. Smoke, and G43s are very good but not essential.
I don't buy veterancy- I think it's a waste of fuel outside of using it on the Brummbar or Panther. I usually buy zero veterancy and just divert the fuel for replacement tanks or new tanks.
If the Tiger Ace is nerfed to the point where it's more expensive than a regular Tiger, then I won't use this doctrine anymore. |
Lose a Tiger Ace, and then the ability/penalties recharges if you spend 800 MP again. So you have 1 tiger ace max at any time during the game.
Suure they'll go that route.
After all they had training camps for tiger aces so they could afford to loose and replace them instantly.
This game was always loose on history.

You have a point there. It's literally a flip-flop of a stance on the Tiger Ace.
If it's only going to have regular tiger stats, damage, and HP, it must have features that make it MUCH better than a regular tiger since you still pay 800 MP and get a resource loss penalty. The Vet3 tiger is only incrementally better than the regular tiger as the bonuses are not that great.
Otherwise, why buy it if you can buy a regular tiger with the other doctrines? They'd have to sort this out.
Maybe they'll make it so you can buy more than one Tiger Ace per game? That could happen. |
Sounds good. The Tiger Ace is no longer an ubermensch.
'Keeps strong coaxial gunner'- so that means that coaxial will still do double damage then.
so when is the next patch coming out?
Since it's mostly just a Vet 3 tiger, I hope that they give it all the good special abilities that make the Tiger interesting:
-vehicle self repair
-Smoke
-Target Weakpoint
-Blitz
And maybe a tungsten AP round? The Tiger's penetration isn't that good.
Beyond that, it could have performance bonuses over the Vet 3: turret rotation, movement speed, accuracy, accuracy while moving...I like the performance of the DLC special Tiger. |
Use SU-76 barrages to support your army |
My avatar is from Hogan's Heroes.
The SU-85 had the same gun as the T-34/85. It would have low cost and a rate of fire increase to compensate. The current SU-85 is to me, more like the SU-100:
SU-100: 640 HP, 60 Range with stronger frontal armor.
SU-76: 400 HP, 40 range
Stug III E: 480 HP, 40 range
So 50 pop cap:
-8 Stug III E
-6 Stug III G
-5 Panzer IVs
-3 Panthers
-2 Tigers
-2 Elefants
-8 SU-76s
-6 T-34/76s
-6 SU-85s
-5 T-34/85s
-3 IS-2s
-3 ISU-152s
Pak40- 50 range 1.5 x firing rate compared to P4
45mm- 40 range 2 x firing rate compared to T-34
Zis-3- 40 range 2 x firing rate compared to T-34 |
