How about this:
Exchange SU-76 with the Halftrack.
As someone who always goes T4, I miss the halftrack so much.......It is my least used unit and the suppression/reinforcement would be very useful to compensate for the SU-85's poor AI.
If I go T3, then the SU-76 can help support the T-34/76 in long range pea shooting.. |
I treat the Grens with LMG like G43's, except you have to 'shoot, stop, shoot, stop'. They are better at range. I use the rifle grenade a lot.
Conscripts w/PPSH...I treat them like shock troops. I rush them in and throw molotov.

That's why the KV-1s (1 to 3) always need a pair of zis in support. So does the IS-2. Both tanks are good AI but are cost ineffective with AT.
A big enemy of the supporting zis pair is panzerwerfer, fragmentation bomb and light howie strike...The IS-2 can still stop heavy tanks if the zis pair is lost, but the KV-1's become gimped for AT. |
I would like to see Penals radically redesigned into something like a weaker version of Assault grenadiers w/special abilities.
So say a 4 man squad with 4 x PPSH. Armor remains @ 1 so they are weak like engineers. The unit is designed to attack tanks with AT grenades or drop satchels. Up-gradable with the flamethrower.
Price? maybe 280 MP

As far as the actual penals themselves, I find that they work best when placed in a 'clown car'. The clown car protects them, and they get to put their long ranged rifles and their flamethrowers to use.
So if you want a flamer clowncar with more firepower, you get the penals. And of course, you can satchel things and have the advantage of getting there fast. |
It's odd. Out of the Soviet tanks, I find only the KV-1 to be a good deal. IS-2's, if carefully marshaled, do very well. KV flame/ISU are good situationally.
I find both T-34s to be overpriced for their abilities. For instance, the T-34/85 is close to the KV-1 in fuel cost but the KV-1 is much better overall. |
You really like getting into meaningless debates on the internet, do you?
haha |
If they were going to double damage & HP on the elite double T-34/85s then we have a super call-in right here. |
The 'final reserves', elite Red Banner T-34/85s look like the Soviet version of the Tiger Ace. But since Elite troops is getting nerfed, I assume that this would be brought in line as well. |
I use 2 x KV-1s with 2 x Zis + conscript in the rear. The KV-1 is basically a AI meat shield to me. It's more mobile than the IS-2, and with two of them can take more damage. When combined with the Zis, it can do well but if the Zis are lost, it needs to retreat if it is fighting heavies.
With the IS-2,it's a 240 fuel wait w/o any t3 or t4 buildings at the earliest. Molotov/nades cost 50 fuel.

A simple question. Would you save the resources for 2 call-in KV-1s in succession or just get 1 IS-2 as your first tank? |
