Moving affects them both similarly, losing about 25% of their static DPS. Situation: vet 5 pfusilier behind green cover. Fully vetted cqc squad approaches from 25-30 meters and stops at 5-10. The results are confusing. 6 men ppsh cons perfromed better then un-upgraded cav rifles, Assengies and mp40 volks. 5 men Airguards were just better and were often winning that engagement, ppshcons could win. I think if you add a sprint, ppsh cons will definitely win in this AFK situation. So AFAIK airguards RA is similar to assengies + ppsh is very similar in terms of dps to grease gun. I did around 4-5 rounds with each squad. No idea what was that, actually. Also did a run with UKF officer. He also did win the fight. In: COH2 Balance

Cool then show me how you do it on a real environment. the effort is proportional to the thread you've created, my man. Nothing more nothing less. put that aside, grease guns have very bad moving accuracy. That is why units with PPsH, e.g. cqc AirGuards do not have the same issue, even though having worse vet bonuses In: COH2 Balance

On average Axis squad size is smaller, especially stock and especially with OST. AFAIK all Axis elite infantry are 4 men (obers, JLIs, PGrens and Stormtroopers). All have extremely low RA though. Engies are mostly 4men. With SOV only partisans are 4 men (except ppsh). USF - paths and vehicle crews. UKF nobody after bolster. In: COH2 Balance

The penetration on that thing should be sky high. It makes no sense to me why the best armor piercing machine gun in the game is the mg42 vet1. Why in the world....Shooting incendiary rounds(I call them rainbow rounds) causes higher armor penetration? Penetrates armor better than dshka and .50 which are slower firing with bigger bullets. Isn't that supposed to be the tradeoff? Bigger bullets hit harder but you have to fire the slower because they heat up the barrel faster. MG42 Damage - 4. Penetration near 2.2. Penetration mid 1.8. Penetration far 1.4 +100% damage +9 penetration with AP rounds DShKa Damage - 10 Penetration near- 7. Penetration mid - 6. Penetration far - 5 +200% pen with AP rounds. So it's clearly that DSHhKa has significantly higher pen, but it does not mean that it has higher DPS. 8 damage with that ROF and you have a light vehicle killer, although I'd argue that DShKa is considerably better at killing light tanks. Seen more then several times that thing kill a Luchs. In: COH2 Gameplay

How do you counter that? That is the point I am trying to make with the inherent design problem of Strafe based skills. If you are in the Center of the map then yes you can see the plane coming and have time to react but many maps have VP points on the right and left corner meaning that any engagement on those sides of the map makes strafe skills unable to be dodged. At that point it doesn't take skill but knowledge on abusing map poor map design. What is the point of AA units then if every single Air ability is being converted to a strafe every patch? it comes full second later then IL-2 rocket strafe. Loiters is 1 click win abilities and should be phased out. Also AA tools do not counter them completely, they rather reduce loiter's duration. Only prenerf M5 krautmower used to do it properly. USF needs a Captain with upgrade to have AA, Brits need Centaur. Only SOV have access to easy AA.Imagine going Lt as USF and then paying ridiculous tax to even get AA. Great change. It really isn't difficult to build AA units. Loiter abilities are good because they allow counter play with Anti-Air units. Strafe abilities have the issue of being too good/uncounterable (impossible to counter) on smaller maps being as how its easier to be closer to the edges of the map and making AA units rather irrelevant and adding another layer of cheese that the game doesn't need. Just add a 1-2 second delay to the ability and it should be fine (same with other loiter abilities) They removed loiter and added a plane that actually required skill to pull off. And the commander is used the most in 1v1, where people rarely build dedicated AA unit, unless it is a early game survivor unit. Great change. In: Lobby
