To be fair, all factions designs have went through the window at this moment. Its a sad thing to see, because its also true that a game with a semi-symetric degign like AoE can be very competitive and fun, games with drastically more assymetry become more challenging and also puts the player inside the game rather than being like a chess game, each attitude matters.
USF redesign was good, dont get me wrong, now its training weights have been released and its natural to see some "OPness" in their new configuration, being it factual and real or an ilusion. |
Be careful quoting trolls, they like that attention. Just saying.

I'm sad Special Support lost, but I hope Urban Assault will get the Calliope buffed, it would be good for USF even if the command is basically Armor but with rocket artillery.
Yeah, more allied powercreep, now its calliope turn.
I really like Urban Assault winning the voting, more rangers would be interesting to see ingame. |
People want a buff for the FF because the KT can kill up to four models.
Allied AI tanks pretty much do the same and more consistenly on i dont see anyone asking panther buffs. |
A number of Suggested Changes:
Increase the utility of the unit, like vet 1 ability a timed ability that suppress but does little damage, increase performance vs enemy light vehicles...
Replace Ostwind with Stug so that Ostheer get an indirect fire support unit in T3. Move Ostwind to T4 and buff so that it can be used to support Panthers. Make Brumbar doctrinal similar to KV-2 maybe (it was superior). These solution will fix a number of units and problem.
Remove minimal range
This is the single best idea. If Ostw is going to be a "mobile AA" then take it to T4. Make it 100% acc againts planes (it has the slowest RoF) if it has to be the "AI / AA" like once centaur was, definitely buff its RoF and durability.
Some will say "if you get 2 of those they are beast" but who wastes that much resourse to dominate AI so late in a match (the only reason i find its because you already won) and others say "its veterancy makes him a beast" well again, there is but no way for Ostw to achieve that, even a single zooks makes risky its use.
If a overall buff is intended then buff its penn and suppression. Ostw its a joke against other LVs.
Brumbarr docrtinal and buffed sounds great too. |
I cant imagine why some guys here want a buff for the FF. Its is on of the best TD ingame. It has a turret, HIGH alpha dmg, stun, with upgrades a fast reload, fow-view and when u have 2 of them you doesnt need anything more to counter every armor (even in teamgames) easily.
must be a l2p issue if u have problems with them....
Because jacksons are OP therefore some people want the same OPness on UKF. Comets didnt go through, next on the list: FF |
If i remember correctly, tank crews for USF already have a small delay in order to exit their vehicle. I don't see any problem though. Aiming and shooting an abandoned vehicle is the exact same thing for all factions to do.
Yup, you are right. But there should be a difference between decre critical and manually descrewing.
The suggestion for the later to remain owned by the player sounds grat and closes all the problems with regards messing with tank targetting, popcap, tank gifting and so others.
Its a win win situation for USF and the other cations aswell |
Imo the biggest *problem* with rifles being powerhouses is that they can slap some munitions and become literal gods (as per the old design)
I would suggest a trade off:
Buff rifles vanilla performance but reduce them to 1 weapon slot until vetted.
This would smooth the power spike old rifles had that turned them into monsters with minimal counter play but allow them to take their place as king of the mainline infantry comfortably.
Ill take the risk to say, USF its pretty stable within itself, the only mayor flaw is crowd control with HMG, but nowdays its not that big of a deal. Therefore if tank war is dominated, you can force axis out of VPs or out of their dives, dont get me wrong USF is not OP in tank game, they just have the tools to either push or hold, bring sherman spam push or jackson and ATG. Normally riflemen in lategame resemble obers and if they could get a hand on thos Lmg34 they are godlike. But riflemen can be replaced lategame less punishingly than axis because of the double bar and their awsome performance.
So, closing in my argument, rifles are great but also is the tank support and thank god they only have rocket arty on calliopes or else they would just destroy the game |
I mean.... this mechanic is just securing your enemy's fuel point, but also making cashes to defend points verses light capping (pios, kubels) suddenly retconned after years?
Sorry i couldnt understand what you mean but ill give it a try.
If you mean that caches are meant to secure resources, id say you are right, but leaving them unattended imo is a mistake too, normally an enemy would just destroy them to cap the land.
This new idea is meant to specifically engineers (what i suggested) to be able to play a sneaky on the player owning caches an not only denying the resourse but also toincrease the stealers ones. Paradogically engies usually carry flamthrowers, so its up to them to destroy caches as easly as it will be to steal |
Stuka to commander and then do whatever u want
wathever? like a infinite amount of volks rushing in with lazer stgs and flamingnade all moving being in the way?
lol that would be a nightmare |
