Thread: [Winter Balance Update] OST Feedback8 Jan 2021, 12:31 PM Jump back to quoted post8 Jan 2021, 10:18 AMmrgame2 thats correct. the doctrine is called 'german infantry' if the vsl infantry cant even beat stock enemy units, what is the compensation? after patch, why not rename to 'german infantry with some stamps and fireworks' Live vsl barely hold out against allies elites, you need that first strike to do well. Why does a 240 mp squad with a single muni upgrade need to be on par/hold out vs allued elites? The veteran squad leader comes with a lot of perks and not just survivability. 4 men grens already have good dps, just slapping a 5thm model on their with free med kits and a better gun and rec acc as well i believe is a big buff for just 60 muni it was i believe. You cant have it all in such a cheap pakkage. In: COH2 Balance

C) M36 become better vs mediums with the higher ROF and SU-85 become better vs heavies So yea it is vicious circle but not exactly the way you mean. I thouhgt okw panther also had 9 secs reload before but i was mistaken. But in the end allies dont go meds in bigger games because how much better the panther is and recource inflation allows them to come at the same time and easely be replaced if lost. In turn allied td's make axis mediums redundant but keep panthers and tiger/kt in check. In: COH2 Balance

Thats why maxim spam is still to be seen in bigger matches i guess Edit: I dont think maxim needs to be changed atm People dont get maxims for bleed, imo they dont supprrss and bleed wel enough. They get more maxims then mg 42's because you need more maxim to get reliable suppression. Basicly you always need 1 more, and axis will always see it as spam. At least sustained fire is going vet 0, still needing a ability that other mg's dont need to do good suppression is not ideal. In: COH2 Balance

As a medium-hunter its stellar but basically useless against heavier armor. The Panther on the other hand is able to push back both kinds of armor. Its like a vicious circle, allies build less mediums the bigger the game goes cuz of the panther hard countering those, hence there is no point in building japzr4 because allies go td or heavy because of the panthers. A few years back panther had low rof of about 9 seconds to have it be less good vs mediums. Now its rof is about medium tank rof and its good at countering both heavy and medium armour, and jagpz4 got pushed aside. In: COH2 Balance

Allow me to rephrase my previous post statement.. No TD at STOCK should be able to self spot for itself... if you want to spam TD's then you should at least have a spotter for them. This would also help solve the problem the panther tank is also having now as it will have more opportunities to actually flank and punish TD's that push to far forward. We need to look at the faction each td is in. The t34 being the weakest out of all the mediums justyfies the su85 being so good with is balanced spotting ability. Same as the mg42 being so good cuz grens arent on par with other mainline in effectiveness. The su85 focused sight is well balanced, it has a cooldown a speed penalty and looses its 360 vision but wich is counteracted by any unit nearby ofcource. The su85 also has only 1 role and that is fight armour, both panthers and even the stug no matter how effective can fight infantry, panthers can slug it out with any heavy allies have. And if the su85 should loose the spotting wich imo it shoudnt. What does it get in return? More flares? Twp like ability? Switchable rounds? Or 260 armour? In: COH2 Balance

Yes ofcource i might be wrong, now we are on it i do not put more then 4 men on my captured mg 42, for popcap reasons mostly. And it survives the game and my maxim usualy doesnt. In: COH2 Balance

I dont think the increased suppression wil help that much when going 5 or 4 men The mg 42 and 43 survive quite well vs soviets because they dont wipe as hard and as much in an instant.
