if the range nerf on the Sturmtiger is going to stay then the AVRE should also get a 5 range nerf otherwise the Sturmtiger has no advantage over the AVRE
It has a hp advantidge over the avre and a total damage advantidge wich lets it do a bit better vs vehicles but the avre is better vs inf with a bigger one hit kill radius. It has a speed advantidge as well i believe over the avre. |
But we talk about players with very much skill and even they struggle hard and have almost no chance. So don't argue with skill and l2p issues. Thats none of the reason.
At this point I should clarify the core of the issue. It's not solely about Pathfinders themselves. It's about the very abusive combo with M8 Scotts, Packhowitzers, MGs and AT guns. As Axis you MUST play with weapon teams. But this combo is a hardcounter to weapon teams. So in order to not nerfing all USF weapon teams (which is nonsense) the only chance to fix this, is nerfing Pathfinders.
That you "MUST" play with team weapons only as axis is false. Ost is more depended on them but it isent a crutch. All factions reley on team weapons esp at guns. Okw can do fine without them this has been since launch.
Usf is forced to go without
A mg or at gun because how their tech is done or go doctrines. They have zooks at all times though.
All other factions have easy access to all their team weapons.
Nerfing paths put usf into riflemen only openings. Making them easy to read and shut down with mg play. The only solution is not play a static game when the enemy has a strong strat vs static play. Afiak okw doesnt struggle as much because they are more mobile/agressive. |

Exactly this is the reaon i dont understand brits need such OP comet tank. there is no weakspot on it. its not this much expansicve, high armor, fast like gocart, KT -like-wiping- gun, smoke, phospor, grenades, super mobil and long range view.
can deal with all targets---combined with pio with nades and equipet with double piats...OP as fu**
Its next the the churchills to only stock tank axis at cant almost 100% pen at all ranges. Allies face much more of this including a good gun on such units, so why is this a problem? |

recovery sappers are good at minute 0, but get outmached later on when you actually get your infantry upgrade, and are retired to merely repair your tanks

Sturms are good early and then they fall off, like they should
volks don't scale, but they are good early and are replaced by obers and tanks when they finally fall off
obers are really good, if you are impatient get fallshirms instead
ostwind can solo x3 to x5 penals and never even get get murdered with kiting, you're really fucking terrible if a single penal defeats your ostwind. three squads wielding elite bazookas or panzershreks though...
if you want mainline that scales, you should've picked pfusiliers
the king tiger and p4 do a great job at fighting anything in front of them, nothing to be said here

I dont know and dont care about rank. All i know its not high in my case.
But having high rank doesnt give you some sort of authoraty on tge game. And having low rank does not invalidate your arguments about balance.

I know Panther is better at AT and also has soft AA that Comet cant do.
But its AI isnt good to say like they're on par with Comet AI.
Its ai shoudnt be as good as the comets ai.
As the panther is supirior in at and it is more tanky with more range more pen and better reload. Plus both axis faction have enough powerfull ai options already. Not that brits dont have that but not on (super)heavy tanks.

Comet MG deal 5dmg, Panther MG deal 4dmg.
Which means Comet MGs do 10 total, Panther do 12.
Comet round has 2.5 AOE, Panther has 0.5 AOE.
Comet has grenade at vet 2
Comet has phosphorus round to burn infantries.

Yeah so does the panther lock you out of other units? Doesn't the panther outpreform the comet in other areas? Or are we gonna pretend it doesnt?
The panther has less aoe but better pen.
The panther has 160 more hp and simaler armour values. More range and better reload at vet.
Dont just type stuff off one unit does well and leave out everything the other does well. Its a misleading picture wich can make it look biased.
I do feel the combo of nades and wp is too much. One or the other should go.

Why does the okw Panther get 2 extra levels of vet but cost the se as the ost Panther? See also up armoured p4 and lefh and pak43 and any other overlap units I may be forgetting?
Faction design is more than just flavor. It is also balance..Ostheer is unable to match the enemies in a battle of attrition (straight up, tommies are easier per head to replace than grens, despite the clear performance and scaling gaps) thusly Ostheer is better at controlling enemy infantry to reduce losses.
The mg42 is absolutely the best mg in the game, but that isn't freely so.
The itent of my post wasnt to complain about units being better for simaler cost. I agreed or at least thats what i wanted to show is that comparing unit cost across factions in a vacuum isent a viable comparison.
I am not the most knowligable on okw but the okw p4 and panther cost more the the ost counterparts afaik or i missed the cost buffs to okw armour. Things being better and for the most part more expensive is also balance or flavor between axis factions.

With all those arguments, I'm still not convinced that OST sniper is better then SOV one. If anything SOV is generally more effective, especially in tandem with Penals. It also has a flare that can reveal cloaked units. So if any nerf should be done, it should be done to all, or at least both SOV and OST snipers.
Counter snipe is kind of redundant ability. Pretty sure most counter sniping at higher levels is done manually.
I wasent aware flares revael cloaked units. Is this specific to the sniper or a radius smaller the sight it gives?
Because i used flares plenty of times from mortars and it hasent revealed stealth units ime. |
