It seems a bit unrealistic to adjust 4 other armies to bring them into balance with one under-preforming army yeah? I understand where you're coming from I think, but it's going to be much easier to buff an under-preforming army than to nerf 4 over-preforming armies.



The whole purpose of the proposal is to make grens different, and better at their specific role, without seriously affecting the other armies. Literally everyone is going to complain if you try and nerf all the other armies based off grens being underpowered. Just look at how many people are complaining now.

Just because many people complain does not mean they are right.
Grens are a 240mp squad with limited hp. Cons on the other side are 240 as well and lack dps scaling.

The problem is not grens. Its wfa inf and penals and the power creep are. This just will be another powercreep imo.

All costs conciderd cons already pay a heavy price. Dropping models quicker and more overal. Needing 250mp and 35 fuel just for them basic snare and molly. Eating muni and requiering more micro to be relevant.

Now grens having low dps is incorrect. Their dps is pretty good next to their rifle nade and lmg. They only loose the most dps when they loose a model. Same for all 4 men squads

Ost has no real chance to wipe? Teller mine one shots all lights, s mines can wipe squads quite nicely esp on retreat paths. The rifle and bundle nade do very well damaging or even wiping whole squads. Flame tracks can easely wipe team weapons and retreating models etc.
So please dont claim that ost has no real chance of wiping. Ost is just more suceptibble to it, having only 4 men squads.

Schocks smg paras/rangers are doctrinal elite ai specialists. Pgrens are not. You dont fight elite ai specialists with the thing they counter one on one. You focus fire them with multiple squads or mg,s.
I dont attack pgrens with cons unless i outnumber them or use a tank or they have shrecks and i do the opposite.

I am not convinced that grens and pgrens need changing. I am of the opinion that volks rifles sections and penal are too good atm. Nerfing them is the way to stop this power creeping.

I can't think of very many points on the map that don't have a green cover spot or building near the cap points, so conscripts can in most cases contest pgrens capping a point, and this the most extreme difference in infantry quality.

Using panzergrens to flip a standard territory point once in cheat mod with conscripts nearby:

Conscripts in green cover ends up 6:2 in the conscripts favor.
Conscripts in yellow cover ends up 5:2 in the conscripts favor.

Ost mortar is a a very bad investment in 1v1s, though I won't speak for team games. Theres no unit that can spot for it for very long, and most allied squads will be charging the spotter. The mortar itself can be charged quite easily and naded as well.

But the pgrens capture the point or nutrelize it. I said cons get butcherd if they close in to contest the point. Did the pgrenz use their excelent nade in your test?

The same with grens vs cons. Cons can ofcourse win at long range against pgrens from cover.

Ost pio,s have extra sight range. So its quite a lot easier to spot for the ost mortar. Ost has camo in doctrines wich can hide pgrens etc. Allowing them to stop for quite a while next to pio,s. The even have spotting scopes in doctrines wich allow vehicles to see far when stationary.

1- All mortars fell out of favour when they nerfed them and improved formations.
2- Trust me, Penals only saving grace was a flamer which wouldn't explode and a satchel which would wipe any unit which was on deep snow. I was salty enough in those days that i had the world record on having the CE flamer explode on less than 1s after purchasing it with my first 60 munitions.
4- Not really. Sturms are early units, Volks are midgame and Obers are meant for late.

1. Not the soviet mortar. Its not used less or more. thats the one they did not change.

4. And yet volks are more numurous throughout the game. Sturms are only replaced when lost for repairs. Obers are a rarity nowadays. So volks are early mid and late game infantry.

Some misconceptions.

1- USF roflstomped OH, so they gave OH an MG42 at T0 and mp to handle them. Nerf of RET lead to basically just rifle spam strats with 0 possibility of any variation early on because tech is too slow. Mortar was design to offer an alternative.

2- Penals were the original only squad which had a flamethrower which never exploded. Flamethrower crit was removed couple of years after launch for all other units. Penals either saw little/niche use when they were a 360mp squad with G43 like DPS on their SVTs and basically no use when they were made into 270mp units. Penals were made the defacto unit for Soviets, when you basically removed Maxims from the game and Conscripts were stripped of their cheese abilities and their muni cost increased, in favour of stats boost which never manage to cut it to viable state.

3- Anything that screams cheese has been nerfed or changed to be harder to pull off. They no longer are IWIN buttons on their own.

4- Volks shrecks were not nerfed, just plained removed when the faction received a complete rework like no other faction received. Double sturm has always been a niche opening, either post or pre rework. Obers saw plenty of use when they were completely broken and after that it has always been an issue of having them arrive way too late into the game.

1. Usf mortar quickly fell out of favor until smoke got moved from rifles.

2. I did have pene flamethrowers explode. Its possible that had them pick a dropped flamer wich could explode. But its quite while ago.
I agree with the penal conscript maxim statement. Though i find cons and having cheese a bit of a stretch.

3. I agree. Allies needed cheese to win the late game. Wich was complained about a lot. Now they still complain. No more paperweight late game to callin meta.

4. Volks overlap with both obers and sturms and are a lot cheaper and easier to use. That and obers no longer being op as fuck makes volks the choice. Cheap, puch above their weight, durable, while having sandbags and snare plus incindiary and stg upgrade. The last 3 the lacked before their change.
