Thread: Wehrmacht - Strategic Reserves - Feedback23 Mar 2019, 07:51 AM @mod team: There are plenty of threads about the new commanders and its hard to get an overview. I will try to summarize and update some feedback here. I hope it helps. Summary of Feedback: Breakthrough Equipment: - Satchel for Pzgrens should be replaced by a smoke grenade or AT satchel - Pios should get standard satchel as part of their upgrade - PZIV: - Upgrade option for Tank commander for better distinction TigerAce: - MP cost is too high, should be reduced to 720 MP - lower the scatter, unit needs to be more reliable against infantry Some users suggested a big Tiger shift: - KT replaces TigerAce in "Strategic Reserves" - Reworked TigerAce moved to "Grand offensive" The idea is interesting imo because... ...the KT really needs some love and would give the Wehrmacht a unique unit. And after the great changes to the TigerAce, Elite Doctrin will be a lot more attractive too. Wehrmacht players would win because they could use a proper TigerAce and a KT. ... it would also help OKW tremendously. The KT in its current state is simply bad. Reworking the unit is long overdue (it doesnt need big changes to be valuable again). Now would be a god time to get this done. ... the TigerAce would be a lot better than the current Grand Offensive-Tiger. You also doesnt have to care about aura buffs. Updated! In: Lobby

That said, we're trying out a cost increase for pfusis in general (I dont even know why they were 250 tbh, I think basically all of us wanted them at 270-290 still). And yeah, pfusis had their vet 4 and 5 combat bonuses removed, compared to the guide (as pointed out by elchino). Again, its basically 3 levels of combat vet with a little utility for 4 and 5. Oh, I think we're also removing vet 5 sprint from pfusis. Increasing the price for Pzfussis would be a really good decision. OKW players will have a real choice to make: - Do you want a strong start with cheaper Volks that can build cover or do you want have super flexible and better scaling infantry that slow your start? - More expensive Pzfussis will also (hopefully) prevent Pzfussi-Blobbs with Doubleschrecks In: COH2 Balance

However it does help tremendously all of these MGs mounted on the tank, especially tiger itself. Thx for clarification! Unit should get 10% lower scatter instead of 10% accuracy then. Instead of satchels give them the "Urban Assault" package upgrade which turns them into the Urban Assault PG unit from the same doctrine as the Forward Supply Station. Just an idea. I really toyed with this idea and it was in all but the final concept design. Reason for why it did not make it to the final version: - Only Pios have access to Flamethrowers (same for all factions) - Pzgrens with Stg44 and flamers would probably to strong. I also thought about giving the Pzgrens the "Offensive package": They would trade their 4&Stg44 to 4&MP40 and flamethrower and could get an additional squad member. But i was and still am not sure if that would work or even be good. In: Lobby

That opens up the route of a possible re-work of the E8 and in general it not being tied to Rifle Company anymore exclusively altho it might be a problem of having both Rangers and the Calliope in the same commander as well so they'll need to figure out how to balance it properly. Alternatively the commander doesn't give much good offensive abilities such as strafes, loiters or arty barrages so it could work with the E8 also being added in and not cause a major balance void. Easy8, Rangers and Calliope in the same doctrine sound too strong imo. I agree about including an arty barrage / bombing run. Air supremacy could be cool. People suggested this for the "US Invasion force" doctrine which i liked a lot. In: Lobby
Thread: OKW - Grand Offensive - Feedback21 Mar 2019, 17:08 PM What i like: The rework of the Pzfüssis is promising and give OKW players a lot more options. Thats exactly the reason why i think that Pzfussis should be more expensive than Volks. They are maybe weaker at the start but offer much more flexibility and scale better. That should make them more expensive, 270 MP seem reasonable imo. To put the aura buffs of the Tiger behind veterancy is a salomonical solution. Tactical Movement fits really good! My concerns (in terms of the big OKW picture): "Offensive package" and "Smoke recon" are two very good abilities and they fit to the doctrine. But i dont want to see them in "Grand offensive". Why? "Offensive package" is the best ability in "Firestorm" and "Smoke recon" is at least for me the reason why i pick "Luftwaffe Ground forces". If the most useful abilities of 2nd or 3rd tier commanders are included in "Grand offensive" why should i ever pick again "Firestorm" or "Luftwaffe Ground forces"? "Grand offensive" deserves to be a strong commander but it should not make other commanders LESS attractive. Firestorm will be more attractive after the MP40 changes, so the ability should be exclusive. (BTW: Whoever created the icon for "offensive package" is a god dawn genius. It really looks fantastic- pls use it in "Firestorm".) My suggestions: Rework "Offensive package" or replace it with "Sector artilery". A doctrine centered around the theme of a "Grand offense" really needs off-map arty and the ability needs a rework. yes, Breakthrough and Grand offensive would share 2 abilities but thats inevitable with 2 nearly identical themes. This is probably due to an oversight when "armor upgrade" was removed from OKW call-in. Good point. My feedback about "Strategic Reserves": Im really happy about the current version, really good job so far, mod team! Now let my nitpicking begin: TigerAce: I like most changes and i completely support the decision to not give the unit some sort of aura buffs. Maybe you could lower the MP cost to 750/720, fuel cost is fine. Maybe you could also lower the CP requirements to 14 at least in the 1.1 mod version. If the change would be problematic you can increase it back to 15. And would it be possible to give the Ace the command panther skin? Right now the unit looks like a unit from Warhammer40k Breakthrough Equipment: Stark and Ethereal Dragon already mentioned it: Pzgrens dont need satchel and bundle nade. My suggestion: Pzgrens get sticky satchel (exclusive with Schreck upgrade) or Smoke grenade or Pios get satchel "Radio": I really hope the ability stays, it's the basis of the whole doctrine. What are your ideas about a potential rework? Commander Portrait: I know its early but if you need a commander portrait pls use the amazing work of RitaRush: https://www.coh2.org/topic/86882/which-portraits-will-the-upcoming-new-commanders-use/post/727632 The tank commander fits so good to the theme of the doctrine... and what can be better than to give a community made commander a community made commander portrait?
