However I am not sure about the higher speed and weapon rotation, I thought they were normed at vet0? At least serealia shows they were, is that wrong? Unfortunately it also loses one of its main advantages, the higher ROF, with vet. not rotation of the "vehicle" but how fast the gun track within it arc. The combination of wider and faster track allow the unit to fire faster at targets without having to reposition. (edited) In: COH2 Balance
Thread: RK 43 5 May 2021, 13:45 PM Jump back to quoted post5 May 2021, 12:53 PMHannibal To be fair though, the HVAP rounds give you about 3% better chance to penetrate a Panther/Brummbar than an equivalently vetted 6 pounder and about 6% compared to a ZiS. It's better, but overall not THAT much. Especially if you consider that a first shot might often be wasted during an enemy attack because the rounds are not popped yet and that without them you have a way way worse chance. Again, at vet, the vanilla 57mm performs decently worse than other ATGs and about similar with HVAP rounds. Without vet, it performs worse without and better with HVAP. You are comparing only penetration when M1 has other benefits over other ATG like: 33% Wider arc 28% faster weapon rotation Higher speed lower scatter angle a second ability for extra range and sight. It is the other option that need to change to create room for the Easy8 or there mus some changes in the commander so that one does not expect for the Easy8 to be the selling point of the commander. The idea that a main battle tank should beat the Panther has been tested with Comet and was proved to flawed. In: COH2 Balance

The change might not be due to the Raketenwerfer being OP at vet1 with movement but because they just thought a different vet would fit it better. RW used to be able at reduced speed at vet 0 and get a bonuses 100% at vet 1. Then that bonuses was reduced to 25% The next step was to make it immobile: Raketenwerfer 43 Due to the frustrating mechanics of its short-range for the user and its camouflage for the opponent, the Raketenwerfer is being adjusted to be perform more like standard anti-tank guns. Range and crew size is being improved, while the camouflage now only works when stationary and requires veterancy 1. The retreat function has also been removed from this unit. Range from 50 to 55. Crew size from 4 to 5. Camouflage ability now locks the unit in place unless revealed. Cannot move, but can rotate. Requires veterancy 1 for camouflage. Retreat function removed. In: COH2 Balance

I did test Raid sections against an AI just to get a feel for how their moving and far DPS felt and wasn't blown away - for instance going by feel their chase-down potential didn't feel as good as G43 Fusies. Raid section are basically riflemen and Raids section with Vickers-K are basically BAR riflemen. If there is a balance issue it's more likely to stem from the M3 HT Vickers IMO. Lot of players like to just A-move Bren sections so I'm not sure how much incentive they have to dump their munitions into Vickers when you have that long range damage drop-off versus Obers and such. Just because something works for a faction does not mean it will ok for a completely different faction. Faction can be completely UP and still manage to win with specific commanders. This patch should focus on solving commander issues and not fixing balance issue the faction might have. I'll change my comment, I don't see potential issue here. Having snare or not on mainline infatry is faction design issue. This patch that focuses on doctrinal issues so the issue of snare or not on mainline infatry for UKF is rather irrelevant even more so since there weapon are also available to Ro.E that do come with snares. Your misconception start with the assumption that I am complaining, the whole point of the preview is to provide feedback so that game is actually improved instead of becoming worse.
