Playing 1v4 against a cheating AI is the epitome of punching a brick wall. The game is fun versus humans because the game puts you at an even level, only your skill matters. How the hell can you compare the two at all? Additionally, the expert AI may be cheating, but it is not that great in a 1v1. Easily beatable.
In this case it's also about abusing skills and having RNG (luck) and on your side as well, ghosting, using broken doctrines or something that hasn't been balanced/fixed correctly. |
It's fun?
What's the point of playing if you are the best and there is no challenge? It's why people play other people instead of playing against the predictable ai.
I don't really call punching a brick wall "fun" but whatever, and don't underestimate the cheating Expert AI, it has outsmarted and outplayed better players than you and me probably, and I think fighting against 4 of those is even more if your so called "challenge" than Hans or anyone else from the top ladders. |
haha, u serious?

Hans wasnot even able to get better rank than 16 in coh1 ,because he was so slow. He is in "top", because top play is joke in coh2, yet you adore him.
I didn't even know him before CoH 2 and I don't really consider anything else seriously competitive besides Starcraft in terms of competitive RTS games.
So no, not really, I'm just stating my observations from the few times I have seen him play. |
I think I never had the privilege of playing against him. But others, like Luvnest or Hans, occasionally have the luck of meeting me, so they can bolster their streak.
What's the point then? I mean, yeah, the unwavering spirit and not giving up to become better at the game but what's the point when you know there will always be someone or something that will always be better than you, for instance Hans and his superior micro because of his Starcraft like APM, it's like you being in a Sherman against a king Tiger, what are you going to do? Even if you shoot him in the back you won't do anything to him. It's just that I've never understood competitive mentally. |
Don't forget to add the Japanese proposal into the equation. So yeah, it's a never ending whine fest, if Axis fanboys aren't whining about Allies, Allied fanboys will be whining about Axis. So, the day Relic flat nerfs the British emplacements is the day British players will spam the forums with topics about how emplacements are useless. What I suggest is for people to stop playing this useless unbalance piece of hip and go make your own mods with your balance in em, let's face it, this game will never be competitive or balanced, because everybody takes balance in a different way, not to mention the amount of people that can actually balance things are less than 5% here, meaning modders, meaning us. So there, happy now? |
Your post is mostly spot on except this.
In a sense, Bofors doesn't need an ability which lets it become yet another indirect fire piece, it gets its value already from infantry area denial. Counters to the Bofors come well after Bofors can be built, IMO its far too good for its cost. (And thanks to that ability, if the bofors user is paying attention, then Pak40 Isn't a counter)
Also, no-one has problems with Pak43 and LEFH emplacements since the beginning of time, they're all so easy to decrew back in vanilla, but especially now with WFA factions.
So you can't just simply move your unit out of the bofors barrage, JUST LIKE HANS SHOWED IN HIS HOW TO COUNTER SIM CITY VIDEO? I mean, the Brit player pointed and clicked, why can't you? |
For a mod you made? Care for a link then??
Soon, I've also made several other changes like for example bringing back the Recon section from the UKF Alpha as an upgrade for the IS, the AVRE has a crew and rebalanced a few other things, oh yes and the observation officer is now also a T0 unit.
What I'm trying to do here basically is give units more utility while giving each Army the basic tools, meaning that the Brits get a mobile mortar team while the OKW get the MG34 in T0 without requiring any tech-ing as it's in the balance mod, meaning MG openings like the Wehrmacht and Brits are possible. I'm also trying to make Karabiner's idea with the Panzerjaegers with the Panzershreck package but I'm not really sure what to do with the volks then.

Build without a crew, must man it with tommies or sappers then will work...
That would mean constant babysitting by an already limited number of squads on the field.
Plus a very small price for each emplacement then.
And I think people are forgetting that the British make up with the emplacements what they lack in early game and their high cost T0 units with high manpower bleed, those being the Vickers and IS, the UC's paper armor and questionable performance against garrisons with the flame upgrade on is a whole other matter. |
Don't mind me, just a comment concerning the OP passing through.
I tried combining the field infirmary and command post upgrades into a single one in order to make room for a 3rd upgrade to a repair station and I reached to the conclusion that I believe a building can only have one type of "repair engineers" as they are called in the mod tools, either medics or the different repair engineers of the armies so my idea is not possible for now given the circumstances if I'm right, I found out that giving the Wehrmacht the Soviet repair station and tying it to Tier 3/4 is also a solution to the problem, did the same to the Soviet's mobile repair station upgrade for the M5 halftrack. |
That's what I call warm welcome
I really don't have the nerve for these guys anymore, they play, they lose, they blame the game, they come here or on the official or Steam forums, they rant about it and then they leave, rinse and repeat. |
