His stats are correct, you don't know how the scatter mechanics work.
The scatter stats of Su-85s are much better than most other tanks.
Because it nearly always rolls a "miss" against the crew men, which are likely to be on the other side of the AT gun, it will do a scatter shot basically every time.
Because of a low scatter angle (little deviation to the left or right) the shot is likely to pass through the gun.
The crewman standing behind the gun means that more of the potential area to be hit is also behind the gun.
The AT gun is a shot blocking object so if a shot passes through it, it will be hit. Exceptions are when the shot goes very short (and thus doesn't pass through the gun) or when the shot goes very far, in which case the shot will go over/through it).
Overall, this means Su-85s are more likely to hit the gun compared to other tanks. If the AT gun is repaired between engagements, the Su-85 still won't be able to destroy it so easily. However, since you say you use two Su-85s, this of course doubles the number of shots, meaning you'll land more hits, destroying it quicker.
The bug when the Su-85 was targeting the gun instead of the crew was fixed a few patches ago.
So, in the end it's too accurate vs Pak's. Cheers. |

The plethora of builds you havent tried yet, both proactively in terms of taking incentive in a match with unorthodox builds that upset the opposing players calfified, predictable unimaginative builds, as well as reactive ones which respond with unorthodox builds that the opposing, calsified, unimaginative player will not have experience or obvious means to cope with.
I sincerely hope, against hope, that you will not respond to this with "Con and Gren spam are are the only meta".

Meta is still wide open, reactive balancing monthly and DLC options to try.

AT guns have 350 hp and a target size of 20. for an su85 to kill a crewed AT gun, it has to get lucky and scatter into the gun 3 times. ive very rarely had this happen to me in a single engagement. repairing your paks with pios in between fighting will help reduce your chance of losing a pak.
destroying decrewed AT guns is much easier because target size is used then. this gives tank/AT guns a 20x accuracy bonus, so they dont have to rely on luck with scatter.
Well either your stats are wrong or what the stats actually are, are not replicated in game. I for one have killed numerous Paks by just shooting them in face with two SU85's, and they are not getting lucky with scatter they direct hit most of the time. |

then, build t1, and start spamming MG42's. place them in buildings throughout the map! don't worry about capping!
when sufficient mg levels have been reached, tech and start spamming PG's!
use the PG's to chase down conscripts squads, cap, and make sure he can't get out of his base territory!
move your MG's up with your PG's for MAXIMUM SS PANZER DIVISION TACTICAL BASE PIN MANEUVER KNIGHTS CROSS SARGENT EXTREME CROSS HOLDER OF THE SWORDS AND THE OAK LEAVES EXTREME

you should soon notice if your opponent has gone t1 or t2
if t1: start spammin scout cars, to counter snipers and flame m3's
if t2: keep spamming PG's till you have enough fuel
if guards: spam PG's, keep scout cars back
don't worry about MAXIMS! they take around 35 seconds to pin a squad of PG's in light cover

then: start spamming P4s!
when you have two P4's
start spamming TIGERS
continue spamming tigers, pioneers and PG's until you win!

to win you literally need to spam 4 units, require minimum APM, minimum micro, it works on all maps with buildings.
this tactic is extremely hard if not impossible to beat.
L2 abuse FHQ's, T70's, 120mm mortars, cons spam, AT Nade RNG oh wait what RNG it crits eng every time. Then just spam SU85 for insta win, as well as cheap 30 muni mines. |
In 1v1 matches I am struggling against the 120mm mortar of the Sovjets. When it hits it does so much damage that complete squads are whiped out. And with the range it can safely fire to almost all location of some maps.
What do you think is the best strategie to play against this powerfull mortar? For example do you just keep your units moving or are you trying to hunt it down and kill it when you see it is deployed to the battlefield?
Mortars in CoH2 are just fucking shocking design to be honest. The 120mm reliably one shots full health German squads, which is complete bullshit if you ask me.

it wasn't the optimal situation to be in i, i agree, but i was already chasing him i thought i might as well trade a t34 for a p4, but all my shots were deflecting, thats the problem, albeit not a very good tactical decision it should've still given me less or more the effect i desired, but instead this RNG bullshit caused me to lose
No. You being bad caused you to lose. Three T34's vs one P4 is a win to the T34's, ALL DAY EVERY DAY, unless you are bad. |
