You`ve been playing too much CoD: Ghosts and your emotional connection to the dog is so strong it has translated into other games as well
I've actually never played CoD: Ghosts. In fact, I haven't played Call of Duty since the first Black Op's. |
How about giving Penal Troops an attack dog. The attack dog can provide extra LoS and detect nearby enemy units out of LoS. For a munitions cost they dog can be released to run at a vehicle/tank or into a building and cripple/destroy it with explosives. To replace the dog, you need to retreat the squad and reinforce the dog.
Reduce the cost of Penal Troops to 300 mp and get rid of the flame thrower upgrade and satchel charge ability. As a hard counter, German snipers can snipe the dog.
Thoughts? |
the game is garbage
COH2 is broken in so many ways and design elements its not even funny.
-RNG has a ridiculously big impact which should not be the case in a competetive RTS game.
Nothing is consistent (infantry criticals, mortars, artillery weapons, the whole flame weapon system, tanks/paks missing or not, penetration system, ram etc...) These are all random elements which you cant control and can very easily decide games.
and this is a big part of the reason why this game has an unbelievably low skill ceiling, imo its competing with CoD games in that category.
-the 2-3 second command lag is a huge issue, it further lowers the skill ceiling, cant react to nades or stop vehicle from moving in time which you could do otherwise.
-the building cover system is fucked, its way too strong and the only reliable counter early game is flamer which is only available on the vulnerable pios/engineers (not counting penals)
Snipers having 40% accuracy against units in buildings is a joke, another element that depends purely on luck.
-Autocover is terrible and can be really annoying. Units tend to crawl on the floor if you drop a nade close to them, if its a molotov units often crawl back to the fire and die thanks to autocover and random chance of death by fire. Snipers ignore attack command and start crawling towards the enemy.
-vehicle pathing is horrible, nuff said.
-blizzards on winter maps add nothing but frustration and annoyance, they are fucking horrible.
-all these op DLC commanders are just sad, they ruin this already fucked game even more.
-terrible map design in many cases that hugely favor one side like langres, road to kharkov, kholodny etc.
-the whole bulletin system is the most retarded thing i have ever seen for a RTS game.
-The complete lack of any kind of information regarding what units/abilities actually do, dps values, health pool etc.
-No SLI support. Im forced to play on low settings with a gtx690 cos of it. Its just ridiculous.
And lets not forget about all the missing multiplayer elements that even 10-15 old year games had on release.
-No Ladder/Leaderboards. You cant even see your elo rating.
-No ingame Lobby for custom games.
-No spectator mode... this one is just too funny
-Outdated replay system.
And probably many other things i forgot to include.
Its no wonder the game is dead, in fact it was dead on release already.
Holy shit dude, you read my mind. You hit the nail on the head for the reasons I don't play any more. |
Whoever said that T-70 only has a small window of opportunity is correct, however, if you keep the T-70 alive and it gains vet is VERY useful all game as a recon vehicle, for harassing infantry, for capping VP's. It's basically a hard counter for German infantry if microed correctly.
The only change that needs to be made is its ability to be spammed. |
-What about fixing the Grens vs Cons early game?
-What about giving Soviets a viable counter to LMG Grens?
-What about the ridiculous RNG that too often decides a game?
-What about the fact that Germans don't even need T4 in a 1v1?
-What about the KV8 Flamer?
-What about how crap the T34-85 are?
-What about the 120mm mortars range and insta gib potential?
-What about the Ostruppen spam into T2 flamer HT?
There are so many other things that need fixing with the game other then just redesigning the SU85. Yeah the SU85 might be a strong unit, but really Soviets need it to be. How else are they going to stop a Tiger or a Panther? If the SU85 is lowered in health any more then it will just be gg every time Germans get two or more P4's and 3-4 Grens with LMG.
In my opinion, CoH2 can not be fixed without a MAJOR re-design of the Soviet faction. The Soviet faction is just complete shit design, that Relic need to admit that they fucked up and start again by releasing a beta patch with MAJOR re-designs of the Soviet faction.
I am currently writing an essay on my opinion of the Soviet faction and its requirement of a redesign. |
Hate to break it to you all, but it's the INTERNET and a VIDEO GAME, in other words just remember it's only pixels on a screen!
I swear some of you must spend a majority of your time behind the computer.
I personally LOVE when someone rages at me in game especially when I'm winning, it means I'm obviously doing something right. I also couldn't give a rats ass if someone talks to me or not in game, just play the friggin game! |
Is the Soviets underpowered in team games or is the OH just easier to play with? I've played SU for a while because that's the faction we started out trying to play with in our clan but we have moved on to OH since they just felt easier to handle and the results followed. If you managed to survive until late game it's still not much you can do against the OH doomstack of heavy armor despite the larger quantity you have of inferior tanks unless your enemies are really stupid. In my experience 2vs2 is fairly balanced but anything from 3vs3 and up is just a nightmare as an SU player. It's also not uncommon to see +75% searching games as Germans, even on a Saturday evening:
From what I understand the game is largely balanced to please 1vs1 players but doesn't Relic give any attention to the large amount of players who play this for fun WITH (not against) their friends in team games and have no ambitions in becoming the new Inverse?
What can be done to make Soviets more appealing for the large player base that prefer team games?
Short answer, no. |
There is a marked disparity in Ost and Sov T1 cost (and subsequently, buildtime), presumably because Sov has Cons at T0, but Ost has to build T1 as the first thing he doesmso as to be able to field anything other than Pios.
Its always struck me as retarded that one faction has to build something right off the bat, whereas the other, does not.
But the problem does not end there. The most serious repercussion, is what it does to Penals. Their timing is off, as a result of this split. Whereas Ost can laterally tech to LMGs, through Muni, Sov is hampered at this early point by sheer MP costs.
My radical proposal:
-Move Grens to T0.
-Increase Ost T1 cost/buildtime to roughly the same as as Sov T1.
-Attach LMG to T1. No T1, no LMG. G43 should be largely unaffected due to CP2 timing.
Result?
-Grens and Cons are largely unaffected. Grens and Cons still hit the field at the same rate, and cost, in relstion to each other.
-Penals hit the field at around the same time as Grens get LMG upgrade.
(Afterthought here, Small problem here, may lead to Penal spamming...)
This because this doesnt change the Muni income rate, so LMG upgrade is still timed by Munis, as it is now.
BUT, and here is the genius, it does mean Sov is not hampered by an immediate MP deficit, in relation to Osts current cheaper T1. Meaning onfield unit capacity is roughly equal, at any given point.
Thats it. Simple, eh?
Problems though:
-Makes the factions "the same" in terms of immediate builds. But as I already stated, the "difference" we currently have, in Ost having to build immediately (albeit at lesser cost) is a retarded and artifical one to begin with. And is largely simply a result of Grens not being T0, as Cons are.
-The relative extra cost to Ost for a more expensive T1, needs to be deducted from future tiers, in some shape or form, so that atleast the total overall cost of building all 4 tiers, remains roughly equal.
-Ost and Sov starting resources would have to be adjusted, preferably, equalised.
TLDR: Problem is in the T0-T1 faction split.
What do you guys think?
Please try to refrain from personal attacks and overt negativity, as even though there may he something absolutely centrally flawed in my proposal that Ive overlooked, that is glaringly obvious, that makes me look like a complete tard, Im only trying to help and do what I can to improve the game.
------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT ADDITIONS
- LMG now attached to T1.
Why not buff cons and move them to rifle command and get rid of Penals altogether making them a doctrinal 0CP call in for 320mp each? Then make the Rifle Command the same price/build time as Ost T1?
Furthermore Tov's, AT Nades and DP28's can be added as Global Upgrades for fuel and MP out of the special rifle command. DP28's could be the answer to LMG's, being similar in effectiveness as the vCoH BAR and give it a Vet 1 ability that is armour penetrating. Healing should be a left at the HQ, but a fuel cost added to boot.
Then make Cons 260mp each and Grens remain at 240mp, but this will work because Cons should be buffed to beat Grens anyway. This will make Ost support their Grens with an MG42 that also needs a buff to its suppressing ability.
Oh and did I mention, fixing the input lag? |
Do I read "over powered German tanks"?? Let me teach you something. Mark Target+SUs
Add button and you have a very very lame/no skill ability that wrecks all German armor. |
These things and their uncanny ability of wiping squads in one shot needs to be looked at. I am all for Soviets having a good mortar, but this thing needs a hit with the nerf bat.
There really is no need for it considering Soviet 82mm mortar is also very good. The 120mm is very hard to kill because of it's range and it also has 6 man squad which makes it durable.
Also, the bloody Grens vs Cons early game needs to be fixed. It really is a no win situation for the Soviets Cons just melt to Grens focus fire and cant go anywhere near Grens when they have LMG's.
The broken early game makes Soviets spam stupid Maxims, Mortars and AT Guns and then Guards, which makes for very very boring gameplay because all you have to do as Germans is build a Flame HT and you win or cause so much damage that its hard for you to lose.
Buff the Cons so that they beat Grens, I'd be happy with that, but then replicate German MG so that it works like vCoH. It needs to supress in the first burst if infantry are charging into it. This will make Soviets learn how to flank and that's a good thing. At the moment all you need to do it hoorah into the face of an MG and throw a tov on it and retreat. |
