Matchmaking is quite bad too, maybe the player base is just too small already.

Infiltration commandoes absolutely does not count. They're a five man squad that just needs reinforcing, not a three man squad.

I guess the three man commandos that got a grenade in their face after their insertion would say otherwise. Since they hit combat with only three man at the moment of their insertion out of an ambient building its not irrelevant and a part of balance. It is just not relevant anymore thereafter, there is only a time window where it is relevant.

This forum is worthless. It's populated by people who don't understand basic CoH gameplay but still want to discuss balance issues. That's fine but people who actually understand the game (like him) don't take it seriously. It's kinda like people debating coaching decisions in sports when they've never been involved in the sport in any relevant way. It's fun for them but the discussions are ultimately worthless.

1) Worthless? Why are you here and posting stuff (atm 624 posts)? I hope you don't meant it that way.

2) A good strategy game offers fun at all skill levels of play. Everyone should have the right to discuss balance problems at his own skill level. l2p is just an arrogant and lazy excuse for not wanting to balance the game for all players, and that means leaving out over 90% of players. If a game for example is pretty good balanced in top100 but one faction falls of sharply in winrate below that ranks, than it is the fault of the game not the fault of the players that have to learn to play. The game is not overall balanced in that case. A lot of players are just casual gamers that have a family and a job and no time for practizing over and over again. Things get worse because this game is not very transparent about a lot of its game mechanics. Casual gamers payed money for this game too and have the right to have an pleasant experience if playing online at all skill levels.

Tested it myself 10 times by spawning Vet0 Pfussis and Vet0 Assgren squads directly on each other, upgrading PFs with G43 and reinforcing to 6th man. Then changed ownership.

Outcome:
4x Assgrens with 2 soldiers with 1/8 to 1/3 health left
2x Assgrens with 1 soldier and about 1/8 to 1/10 health left
4x Pfussis with 1 soldier and about 1/8 to 1/10 health left

I do think the problem in this labor situation only exists at Vet0 and maybe partly Vet1. In reality Assgrens won't teleport next to Pfussis and they have no sprint and have to rely on smoke of other units that have to be nearby.
Versus Ostheer Assgrens they perform quite even on the other hand, at the start of the match at least. Of course only until Ostheer Assgrens get 6th man upgrade going.

I do think the mix out of combat and engineer doesn't works that good. They sacrifice raw power for versatility. Sadly much of this versatility is not needed at USF roster. Repair is not that urgent and Rear Echelons are doing the constructing job just fine. I personally think I did right not playing them about 1-2 years. They are still not so great as a combat unit and I don't think their construct/repair ability makes up for that. I was better off playing Airbornes or Rangers.

Add the fact that Armor company does nothing about the most urgent problems of USF unit roster. Overall the company is just not worth it (in 1vs1 it is still the last one at loadout picks, even after latest buffs to 105mm and offmap).
