222 definitely cannot *realistically* take the place of a medium vehicle for ostheer. That would just be silly... lol remember when 222 would beat T70?
Uhh, please show me when this happens. Vet 0 riflemen and gren in cover will lose to gren. if you're talking about vet 3 riflemen and vet 3 gren, it should be close to even and non-moving unit in cover should win. if you expect unvetted gren to win against 2-3 vetted riflemen... no comment.
Live the old days of the vanilla game. Vet 3 grens versus cons would get roflstomped all day long by g43/mg42 upgrades. cons in cover would just melt to gren blob. except now it's pretty counterable. i feel a small nerf to riflemen are coming along but nothing major.
He's talking about Gren or Volk in cover vs. Riflemen approaching over open ground into close range.
I'm seeing a lot of Ostwinds and very few Paks, which might be the problem.
Valentines are a lot tougher, can crush, have truly excellent smoke and come out at about the same time yet I've never seen anyone complain about them.
I'm pretty sure the Scavenge Doctrine's 105mm Howitzer Barrage was nerfed soon after release to not fire on bases. What was the map? Is it possible the map's base sectors were just really small and the edges of it were pretty close to where troops retreat to anyway?
Scavenge Doctrine could always fire on bases, it's effect was just nerfed so it didn't fire as many shells because people would save up 500-700 munitions and take out entire usf base in one hit.
Why are we discussing it's real life capabilities? In real life the 222 had a 2,8 cm mounted on it that penetrated an IS 2 (in the front). The 2 cm gun the 222 now has was capable of penetrating T-34s.
If we buff 222s offensive abilities you should definitely lower it's vision though. Just because it was a 'scout car' by name doesn't mean it should be able to maphack at vet 2 and spotting scopes. Make the maphack an ability with munition cost and cooldown and I would be okay with it. Otherwise I think people are underestimating it.
