they asked you to apologize.
in turn you guys insulted them, called them names, and asked for noun to get fired...
if that is not "asking for it", i don't know what is :-)

I am repeating the conclusion after explaining the validity of the arguments. Since you are unwilling to accept the following facts:
1. The community managers are present on this and equivalent websites. They read posts and reply to them. COHEXPERTS have a high attendency on these websites.
2. The community managers are present in HelpingHans' stream. They talk in the chat. They watch the gameplay.
3. The community managers have been present on streams themselves (SNF, HelpingHans at Relic).
4. The community managers met HelpingHans at the Relic studios in Vancouver.
5. The community managers know about tournaments. For instance, Barton versus HelpingHans in the ESL final. Behaviour is known.
1. yes
2. yes
3. yes
4. yes
5. no
the CM know about tourneys. period. do they know who won? possibly. do they know played in the finals? maybe. do the know anything placed 3rd and down? probably not. neither do i for example.
"behavior is known" --> nice fact btw :-D i assume that is your conclusion... if that is so, let me present to you another line of facts:
1. new york is in the US
2. the US is on planet earth
3. i am not in new york
==> conclusion: i am not on planet earth.
this is your logic.

Conclusion still applies.
conclusion has never applied, and never will.
your logic is a non sequitur par excellence.
repeating it doesn't magically make it right. |
First, they SHOULD know, since COHEXPERTS are a controversial part of this community, who can most certainly not be described as a random group of individuals, as most of them are known players and some of them are known to be very good players.
Second, they DO know, as they are in HelpingHans' stream regularly and they read posts on this and other websites, where COHEXPERT members both post and are part of the subjects of other people's posts.
Conclusion, the community managers are aware of the persistent behaviour of some of the COHEXPERTS, which has carried on for months, and ALLOWED it. Untill HelpingHans adressed his issues and VonIvan got suspended, which is a friendly favor creating a bias.
i'm pretty sure, that if you were the community manager, you would know every player, every group of players, every forum, every thread, every post and every replay ever posted.
don't assume that others would do the same. don't draw conclusions on assumptions. |
I do know, since Hans already stated his exact complaints on his stream and this website. It is hard to believe the cummunity managers are unaware of the existence and behaviour of some of the members of COHEXPERTS. Regardless, they should know about these things and I think they actually do. The fact they did not act on this persistent behaviour by themselves is a clear sign they do not mind.
Furthermore, I would appreciate if you did not copy my sentences every single time you respond to me on this forum and then replace the last part with a line such as: "you have no idea what you are talking about". If you disagree with me just state the reason, instead of disqualifying my statements on personal grounds.
Hans has stated what is bothering him, but you STILL have no idea what he told anyone at Relic, and what kind of proof he backed his story up with.
You are assuming things you cannot possibly know.
Also, i am not copying your sentences every time, and when i do, it is to emphasize the wrongness of exactly that part.
It is quite obviously NOT clear that the community managers should have an idea what any random individuals/groups of CoH2 players are doing whilst they are playing, unless they get input on their behavior or unless they happen to stumble upon it somehow. They do have a job (Community Manager), and that jobs focus doesn't encompass "stalking the gamers to find wrong-doers".
hacking is ''breaking the law'' no questions asked its the refery who says if there is any hacking or not , abussive and harrasive behaviour on the other hand ... its alot more subjective to determine that
...and, to keep your analogy, in sports it's also the referee that decides whether you get a red card/yellow flag/2 minute/timeout/hat of shame for the offense. i have never seen a referee ask a player what his thought process was behind calling the other player a "son of a bitch". |
It is quite clear that Noun did not judge by himself, because he only acted upon a complaint by Helpinghans. If the situation was severe enough, he should have known as community manager and suspend VonIvan, before a complaint was filed.
It is quite clear that you have no idea what you are talking about, since you have no idea what Hans said to anyone at Relic about VonIvan, nor what kind of evidence he provided. And being a community manager doesn't automatically make you an all-knowing god of some kind, so you have to act on input, rather than pro-actively searching for that kind of behavior. |
What precisely is the difference between trolling and "plain retardism" or bullying?
it's basically the same thing, just wearing a helmet and knee/elbow pads and drooling while doing it. |
I do not know enough about his antics to make any judgement.
that's what i've been trying to tell you all along.
Furthermore, it is inconsequent and not justified to suspend a single player as there are players out there that verbally abuse other players to a greater extent (Barton for example). By solely suspending VonIvan it is clear that Relic favors familiar faces.
no, hans is just the only one that reported somebody to relic. |
No, people should be able to appeal any ban. Always. This is not the kind of appeal that should get through, but people can be wrongly accused of hacking. Only when it's obvious do people get accused.
If you want to be part of something that you invest a lot in but is very heavy handed, shouldn't you be a tad concerned? I don't think there's any way both of us can or will get banned from the game, but it is still something to be concerned about nonetheless.
EDIT: The last two quotes weren't from WIFIDI, they were from Paperplane
those weren't from paperplane but from me.
and again: this is relics game, they can do whatever the hell they want. and i actually support their decision to not make bans appealable. why? simple: it's even more work put into the banning process, that could actually help make the game itself better, instead of having to ban assholes. every minute relic has to spend looking at replays/chat logs/stream highlights is a minute not spent on the actual game.
the "heavy handedness" is very, very, VERY relative. a 2 week ban is nothing that i would call harsh. at best, it's a wake up call.
also: if harassing/bullying people on the internet is your "hobby", there must be something going fundamentally wrong in your life. |
