well, tbh, if you just wanna have a quick glance at the stats themselves (or at least the ones that i grab), i could have released the program 3 months ago :-P
if there is some demand for it, i can put this "test" version online. it has about a million bugs though and only grabs stuff that i deemed valuable (still more than was on coh2stats). and i'd actually have to test it with the current version (just tested whether it worked right after release, haven't really done any work on it since then). |
there's no such thing as accuracy. units don't have an accuracy stat. hit chance is distance*size. end of story.
"units" don't have accuracy stats. because there are no "units" in the game.
only squads and entities. and entities have weapons. and weapons have near and far accuracy.
Not to feed the flames but if low scatter results in higher accuracy (Such as 1 on the Brumbar) i wonder how efficient attack ground on SU-85s against Infantry is.
as for ground attack for anti-infantry:
just like with the StuH in CoH1, ground attack can often be "better" than targeting a specific entity in a squad (for example if your tank is trying to shoot the one lonely guy of a squad that is chilling out in the middle of nowhere, while the rest of his mates are clumped up on top of each other).
remember though that ground attack is almost always a "miss", while attacking a unit always has a certain percent chance to actually hit an entity (even if it might be low). |
i have some free time this weekend, might work on it then. no promises though. |
the amount of people complaining about the scatter changes that have no idea what scatter is is TOO DAMN HIGH.
max scatter distance only comes into effect on roled misses. max scatter distance is the maximum distance from the intended target that the projectile will hit the ground. low max scatter distance means the projectile will hit close to the inteded target, even on roled misses, which makes a low scatter value better for anti-infantry purposes (even if it doesn't hit the guy the projectile was aimed at, it might hit another squadmember, or maybe even multiple ones). you still need to factor in the actual splash damage of the projectile though, so even if the max scatter distance is low, if the projectile has little to no AoE damage, it is very unlikely that anything in the vicinity of the inteded target will take damage.
the scatter changes will have little impact on actual gameplay, especially in tank vs. tank battles (apart from maybe the brummbär one, since the brummbär projectile has huge splash damage (or at least used to have); alpha brummbär was awesome... i don't think i lost a single game in alpha while going 4 pio -> T4 -> brummbär spam :-)) |
Omega_warrior's post was extremely helpful as he indicated a new patch will be here soon, which possibly means new 1v1 maps (point one) and a new meta game (point two).
Guess what? Tomorrow, a new 1v1 map and other updates will make changes in favor of BeltFedWombat's love for CoH2. Nobody called him a noob. BeltFedWombat himself suggested he might be a noob by saying "perhaps I need to L2P".
Other than that, you didn't post anything new to help him either.
a simple patch won't "force him to love coh2" like you said. it might, it just might add stuff that would make the game more enjoyable, but theres no guarantee for that.
you called him a noob (or, rhetorically asked him whether he wanted you to call him a noob, which is basically the same thing).
as you can see from the rest of the posts in this thread, the other people understood what he meant. and whether my post is helpful or not is up to OP i think.
PLS dude, next time before you post, think twice about it. if it ain't a nice post, don't post at all. |
You are part of that BeltFedWombat, as Omega_Warrior tried to help you on point number one and two, but you were extremely rude to him.
Besides that, your post makes very little sense as loving something intensively is something we cannot help you with. If you don't like the game enough to continue to play it, then quit and move on. We cannot force you to like it enough. Patches can. This is why Omega_Warrior's post was quite helpful for you.
i don't know why, but every time i see you post, you miss the point entirely.
he asked, and i quote, "How can I keep the love alive?".
saying to "at least wait for a patch before complaining" is not an adequate answer. neither is calling him a noob.
as for me, i also loved vCoH and am discontent with the state the game is currently in. i have also been eyeballing other games, and might come back to CoH2 in a few months when features have been added. so, i cannot tell you how to keep the love alive, but taking a step back and appreciating other games might actually help. |
if barton wants to communicate via PM or pidgeon carrier, that's his prerogative. he also asked politely to remove off-topic posts, only to get more of them... |
replays, iirc, have always saved the location for every order (move/attack etc.). it is just a question of accessing that information, and then determine whether it could have been legit or not.
camera movement would be almost impossible to capture with the current replay format.
though i agree, that the replays could use a lot more info (still lower priority than other stuff imho). |

So both Barton and VonIvan are now banned from the game for "trolling" and the admins of this site come post to a fan thread to call it a clown-thread and "you and your lot unbelievably stupid" in all round patronizing way?
....next up on the chopping block.... |
