The problem is that OKW was not originally designed as we see them in game. They were truly originally a faction starved of fuel, munitions, and board control. Now they still retain the perks they needed to survive in a game, but they also have more standard game play. OKW is a flawed faction as its core. That is not to say there are not good ideas in OKW, just the overall development of the faction is broken and stupid.
The Flak HQ is what really gets me. To take a fuel point on some maps that it costs the OKW 0 MP to protect. I need to build >600 mp in units just so I can attack. Of course once I try to do this I give up the element of surprise, and should I lose I lose tons of MP and he repairs the HQ in 10 seconds or so.

No he is saying the maxim is hard countered by the unit it is supposed to be used against. You are supposed to spam maxims vs gren spam. That is supposed to punish a player for over investing in front line infantry without any support. Instead Grens just rifle grenade you to death. Also this unsupported maxim statement makes no sense. So if I see 1 gren squad I should have a script squad and a maxim? How am I going to field more units than him when they cost the same? The maxim can only deal with squads one at a time. Riflenades are poorly designed and in place because of 6 man weapon crews. Reduce weapon crews to 4 man, buff stats, give grens stick grenade. If you are good enough to flank you will be rewarded with kills. If not sorry you cannot wipe me from outside maxim firing range. In: COH2 Balance |

Ratchet you know better, ignore Alex. Alex sometimes its best not to post. Back to OP: Resource conversions are inherently stupid. It takes away a fundamental leg of the game, resource denial by cut offs. If we must have them they have to be adjusted for team games. It is not right that resources are so abundant in team games and these abilities have few downsides. Luft supplying fuel to OKW is out right game breaking and should not be possible in team games. Try beating an intelligent OKW player that can suddenly go Stuka and AT, or get double Stuka before you get your first T34. In: COH2 Balance |

Again, you cannot expect the MG34 to stop a blob. If you are dealing with a blob don't rely on the cheapest MG to stop it. Use your own units and use the MG well behind to make sure you win the encounter. If you engage him with your own units and his are taking damage and suddenly getting suppressed no amount of rifles is going to save him. He is going to lose to sturms and volks. The MG34 is unique, it is the only MG in a faction without MG's, AND IT GETS VET 5! Try getting some vet on that thing and be impressed. Vet is easy to get as soon as you get vet 1. Pop the rounds every time you enter combat. Won't cost you much, will double the stats on the gun. Suddenly looking pretty good. If I find an MG34 early enough in the game (before the 15 minute mark) I always pick it up. Great to have, easy to use. If you think one MG should stop blobs, then you must really think the maxim is useless. In: COH2 Balance |

Wow buff to MG34 are you guys nuts? Unit has no tech cost, is cheap, can be built instantly at 1 cp, has 5 (!) levels of vet, and gets incendiary rounds at vet 1. It is also in a faction that generally does not concern itself with suppression tools. If you think the MG34 is bad I assume it is settled that the DSHK (and probably the maxim) needs a serious buff. Some interesting thoughts here. I agree that the T34/76 was largely rebalanced based on community feedback, and entirely disrupts the way in which T3 was designed. The T34 either needs something to make it scale better, or my preference is to see Soviets reworked as a faction. Ok good to know how this keeps happening. As far as I can tell grenades are still super buggy for all factions. Can we not have the return of the Kubel Jesus? I'm still scarred from that chapter of the CoH2 meta. Wait this ended? In 3v3+ the kubel is still extremely annoying and too good for its price. Also Banana you want more utility for Volks? If you let them damage scout cars natively then how could I even use Scout Cars? If you see T1, play defensive and get a rakenten as 3rd or 4th unit. With new aiming time, easily capable to destroying Scout Car or pushing it away. Or keep your Sturms nearby and use them to ambush the scout car as it pushes in. Sturms do excellent damage against car. Since he is lite on AT definitely go for Mech and get fast puma or Flak HT. Flames in scout car is still cheese, will always be cheese, and is stupid, but apparently is going to stay. In: COH2 Balance |

Just played against this, was very simple to win. Using MG's and Kubels pin all his men around the FHQ. Use units to pick of squads trying to crawl away. Bleed them of MP while one player gets Flak HT or Flamers or MTHT, or even stuka if you can hold on. Biggest thing is to keep them pinned so you can work. Cheesey and beatable. Also don't come here looking for advice, get it, and then say, nope can't do it. I don't want to use that commander ever. In: COH2 Gameplay |
