It's a premium medium generalist. It being good against the P4 and not heavier tanks is sort of the point, surely?
Against Pz.4 it is good and ZiS-3 but its does not cost 130 fuel. And to spend 130 fuel for a Pz.4 hunter whose main cannon only scratches the infantry (machine guns do more damage than a gun) oh no buddy, I don't see any benefit here. The T-34-85 is a slightly less useless T-34-76. If the T-34-76 is useful as a kamikaze unit. That T-34-85 at least can kill Pz.4. 1st veterancy and the absence of any real abilities further aggravates their situation.
I can't find a place for myself for the T-34-85. This is anti everything - anti nothing. Its AI is not that good, Pz.4 has the best AI with constant wiping of a full squad. Its AT abilities are solid only against Pz.4, other tanks are constantly bouncing. Therefore, I will always prefer the more specialized unit SU-85 + Katyusha. Yes it will be more expensive and time-consuming. But also much more reliable.
After playing for several days with the PPSh-41 assault package. I realized that this is a pretty pointless upgrade right now. It comes at 2CP and costs 60 ammo. It gives only 3 PPSh-41, which makes it indefinite, it deprives the conscripts of at least some kind of ranged combat, but at the same time does not give them much CQC. That is, what makes it unique? PPSh-41 is a doctrinal upgrade that can not oppose anything to the rest of the infantry. The only thing he can do is beat the Grenadiers, but for this you need to spend ammunition for the "Ura" in order to come to an effective distance, turning the conscripts into a ammunition black hole.
Ideally a faction has both offensive and defensive infantry options stock. OST have Pgrens and Grens, UKF have IS/(Anvil)RE and now the Assault Officer, OKW have Volks and Obers, USF rifles sort of pull double duty, though the LT and CPT are a bit more "Assaulty" thanks to the Thompson, bit more ambiguous in this case.
7Man cons are very good defensively, and still have oodles of utility. SOV should have both 7man, and another option stock. Im still saying Frontoviki.
If you dig deeper, the very name "conscripts" is not entirely correct. First, all the armies of the world at that time were conscripts. Why do we not name the grenadiers - conscripts?
Secondly, in 1943 (conscripts have shoulder marks, which were introduced in 1943), the recruits did not create divisions in haste and were sent to the front. From the conscripts they collected "reserve regiments" in which they could be up to a year. And later they were poured into the front-line troops. I still think that conscripts are not a correct name that needs to be replaced with "Strelki" - rifleman. Standard riflemans troops emblem:
Give the PPSh-41 as an upgrade for the rifleman, and instead of the PPSh move the DP-27 upgrade.
I think that in the conscript PPSh-41 assault package Molotov should be replaced with a regular grenade. This is the minimum that should happen if the PPSh-41 remains doctrinal and should justify its cost and CP.
To be fair, I think WFA was a correct decision, even if those armies have been somewhat of a thorn regarding balance. You're a bit limited for factions if you stuck to the Eastern Front.
I agree with the comment below. The USSR and Germany also have units for at least one new faction, for example, the Guards Army. Plus there is a Hungarian mix of Hungarian units and German units if you are tired of the Germans. But .. the company of scum and all this criticism, instead of fulfilling their promises and fixing the situation (why the British were needed without the opposite side, without a campaign - this is not a DLC, but a stub), but instead of Britain, make a good big DLC about the Eastern Front with a history ... it happened like this:
Relic leaders could have turned DoW3 failures into success stories by removing deadweight.
For me, the most disappointing thing is the corporate hypocrisy/double standards and empty promises.
Company of Heroes 2 will be entirely about the Eastern Front - Quinn Duffy.
I didn't like absolutely everything in the beta. Gameplay, graphics, weapon feel are all a huge step backward. Maps, sync, TTK all annoyed me. I would call Cold War one of the worst CoD games I've seen, although Ghost will remain the worst for me. After playing beta and made a decision - spending money on it is stupid.
