Give us the Nashorn, Hetzer, Panzer III, and Flak 88 already.
Also ISU-122 and SU-100.
Yes, there are a ton of unused units out there, from Soviet to Italian. Many different fronts, countless stories. The Eastern Front is not an excavated treasure, but one Western Front is being sold from time to time. I'm pretty tired of this. Same with Call of Duty: evil KGB Soviets / Russians, trying to take over the whole world. Every damn game
Because Western Europe has been done twice, Relic is too scared to touch Eastern Europe again, and the Pacific simply isn't adaptable to CoH's formula (island hopping, naval combat, air combat, infantry combat is heavily booby trap and ambush based).
Early war, including Africa, is the best bet. I'd like to see North Africa and Eastern Europe, but I doubt Relic wants anything to do with Eastern Europe after they missed the mark so badly that they were met with backlash from Eastern Europeans.
But they must go back to the Eastern Front to fix their reputation. They simply have no choice. The Eastern Front is the most extensive, with a huge number of events and stories - a treasure. Plus a reputation that will make me more picky about their games.
I'm fine with RNG and abandoned tanks, it makes the game more unique and more fun. It's not just clicks and timing, but also risk. And I hope if CoH3 arrives and it is a decent game, the abandoned tanks will still be there.
The game mechanics doesnt fit a naval play style. And Balancing would be impossible since the vast difference in technology between the us and Japan.
North africa, Italy and a deeper view of the eastern front are the only topics which fit the coh universe and would be new.
Why North Africa, most of the battles is a desert, an empty desert. Yes, there are other battles with varied landscapes, but this will not fully reflect the North Africa Company. I always considered this option to be inferior.
I'm optimistic about Iron Harvest. There's a lot of room to grow but with the support of a community, I think it could be great.
I'm on the fence looking at greener grass. And it's less of a fence, and more of a solidly built wall where I can keep my balance for a while.
I'm not as optimistic as you are, the community has already raised over $ 1.5 million for the game (at how many announced fees?). 4 years of development only after the trailer, how much development before that. And the games are frankly bad: gameplay, visual, story. I wish the game was good, but it’s not. and I don't think it will.
it still goes on. i'm currently playing supreme commander, a game which also came out 2006, and have a lot of fun.
it still looks awesome, better than today stuff, which is a fu***ing shame. and the gamyeply is just unique, undescribable.
never again something like this was developed. during that time i was looking forward to what may come in gaming in the future...
but people chose DoTa, LoL, Mobile games and fortnite
I was disappointed when I saw the first gameplay video. After playing beta ... well, disappointed for a reason. The game is played the same as it looked in 2016, what's the studio doing for 4 years? The gameplay is primitive and not interesting, the interface is also simplified. Everything in order to sell the game more widely, that is, for the sake of controllers. The game plays worse and looks worse than the first part of the Company of Heroes.
I bought Soviet commanders (not all) and some Soviet camouflages. I bought the Ardennes just to support Relic after a serious crisis with THQ, although I do not support the choice of the Western Front and Relic promised that the second part will be entirely about the Eastern Front. And seeing that Relic did not change the situation, I did not buy the British faction (a friend later gave it to me). And also I bought the first expansion for "Theater of War" because it turned out not to be what I would like. I would like "Theater of War" to be a set of mini stories something that we saw in "Tales of Valor" DLC.
Ya the gunplay was amazing in BF5, its a shame they fucked up just about everything else. BF1 was pretty much the opposite, mediocre gun play but despite that far better overall imo. Good maps and use of the time period, fun variety of vehicles, better game modes, superior visuals, great performance few bugs, consistent experience that didn't get screwed up with gamebreaking updates, not overtly woke.
I don't know why you think that, but the shooting in BF5 was bad. The weapon looked like a toy weapon and its recoil felt like it was a toy weapon shooting marshmallows. The feeling from the weapon is just awful. Both parts: BF1 and BF5 were bad, some more, some less. The catastrophic falling online BF1 and early death of BF5 are clear evidence of this.
