It doesn't help much against SU-85 though. Su85 hits with almost 100% accuracy (that too on the move) that it puts modern day M1 and Leo 2 tanks with laser range finders to shame. The best part is that very often the su85 can insta kill shrek teams too. I once sent 2 shrek teams against an 85 and after 3 shots i had just 3 pzg members left. Not to mention an ANTI TANK gun like a PaK which gets sniped by the 85 while the the paks shot MISSES. Coming back to StuG ... I use it a little more often mainly since its a bit more effective against t34 spam than a panzer4 but its absolutely useless against anything else and can easily be flanked. In: Ostheer Strategies

Minsk pocket, Rzhev Spring) with 2 MGs and what's the most important make it so when flanked correctly MG42 have two choices really. Retreat or die. why not remove Germans completely and have a soviet civil war ? 6 man squads cough , faster maxim setup time and packup cough , more dps cough In: COH2 Balance

I haven't built a single PzV in 1v1 or 2v2 game as a German. Why you would go for Panthers when you can have 2 PzIV for the same price. Bargain. And when you will get Vet1 Blitz you don't need to flank them. You can just rush head on and get behind them using this ability. I would only build Panthers in 3v3 or 4v4 games but rarely. ROFL ... PZ4 vs su85. What do you smoke ? This is as good as the guy telling everyone to use mg42 against snipers. Did you know ... pz4 costs the same as an su85 and comes out the same time. So there is a very high chance that both are unvetted when they meet each other meaning no blitz. Su85 can warp speed reverse away from any flank attack and with guards to button up that pz4 its curtains. In: COH2 Balance

LOL In that video ... that single is2 1)managed to deflect the faust and kill most of the gren squad in 1 hit 2)killed the engineers repairing the VETERAN pz4 in 1 hit 3)attacked a VETERAN PZ4 and yes due to bad luck one of your shots missed the pz4 but noticed how many times the p4 shots just deflected. By the time you destroyed that pz4 he was already on vet2. So you cant compare a unvetted is2 to a 2 star veteran pz4. IS2's anti inf capability is far far far far better than a tiger btw. Tiger is only slightly better than is2 against tanks. Imo is2 is still a viable option .... it can soak up quite a bit of damage. Thread: Tips vs Snipers with SU85 (1v1)8 Sep 2013, 22:59 PM the problem with sticking with T2 is that your anti inf capability (no ostwind) and AT capability (since you have no PZ4/StuG to kill t34/t70) makes you a sitting duck in anything more than 2 v 2. Unless your opponent is not too smart and you positioned ur AT guns well your in a world of trouble. Don't forget even if he gets 85's and you have no armor he will probably just invest in shock troops or worse get a KV8 which comes out way way way earlier than an elephant or tiger. There is a reason why most of the tournaments are won by soviets ... they are unstoppable at the higher skill levels. In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: high lvl soviet players using sniper/guards/su858 Sep 2013, 22:49 PM Been playing a number of 2 v 2 against lvl100 players using the usual sniper/clown car cheesy tactic with conscript support. Now since these are not noobs my usual method of trying faust them while finishing off with an mg never works. He just runs away sniping my gren squads 1 by 1 while staying out of faust range. As expected I have to retreat early on so by the time I have my scout car with the 20mm upgrade I have lost map control. I try to flank his clown car with my sdkfz and of course since guards arrive at the same time he just buttons me up and finishes my 70 munitions investment. By the time I get enough fuel for an ostwind he already has su85s pumping out and more snipers which means i just give up. Any viable strategies to deal with well microd sniper cars early game and prevent total loss of map control ? In: Ostheer Strategies

The MG-42 can easily survive a flank, trust me, it's not that hard to run away with it and re position, if one man gets caught in the fire of the MG42, whole squad is suppressed. The Maxim on the other hand, takes ages to suppress and gives more than enough time for troops to take it out with 2 swift rifle grenades. Judging by your seemingly rage-induced counter post, it seems as if you have never used a post-patch Maxim nor have encountered one. Or perhaps you have encountered one, but it was so easy to take it out you barely noticed it. I don't want the Maxim to shoot mini nukes, but it would be balanced in this current game build, compared to the gravity manipulative MG42 rounds. O'Rly 2 rifle grenades cost how many munitions ???? I once launched 3 X Rg's and the maxim still had 2 men. If you flank a mg42 there is no way he has the time to unpack and re set up before you move out of his lof (unless your a mega noob) In: COH2 Balance
