So Panthers.. Cheap, fast, good armor, and can win against ANY soviet tank with micro..
Is there a reliable way to kill it?
Currently, if the Germans have at least one fuel point, they can easily build Panthers and win. Solutions:
- Spam mines(Doesn't work in the heat of a battle, and a chance it will be blown up or not triggered)
-Capture all fuel points(Not always possible)
So it's a bit easy to kill ONE Panther if you are lucky enough to slow it down, with
-A lot of T-34s and good micro
- A KV-2 and luck
- A vet 2 KV-1 and luck
But with multiple Panthers on the field it seems you have already lost, unless you have a million tanks + Pay2win commanders

I think it should be removed from damage engine because even if it provides a small bonus, a vet ability should not be a "Insta-Save your tank" button |

The 203mm, right?
It's pretty damn inaccurate at first, but once you get vet 1 you can go rambo with the precision strike. Precision strike costs 60 muni though. |
I find the main issue with Panthers is that you can plink away its health until it is near death, but then it pops smoke and/or warp-speeds away before you can actually finish it off. And then it comes back later with even more Vet, becoming harder and harder to kill.
This. This was my motivation to start this thread. |
The only way to counter many German units or strategies is combined arms, yet Germany is better at that too. |
It's an awful map. If you start north side as Soviets, you might as well just /leave and save yourself the trouble.
I lost at 29 points on north side. Mainly because they broke one bridge and Panthers |
It still stands that the Panther has no hard counter, and no infantry can do much to it. This leaves you with having to devote a lot of resources/combined arms and to be lucky to actually be able to destroy a Panther. It's going to escape if you do anyway, and mines and AT grenades are not always available/ chance/luck-based.
Guards don't button long enough, and smoke completely negates them. |
I just had a Vet 3 B-4 howitzer one-shot a brand new Elefant with using its normal, non-precision barrage.
Glorious.
Really, cause I did that and it took 2 to get it down to low damage and broken engine? |
The game lasted around 50-ish minutes. We were holding the corner(Rostov) We were fighting off enemy incursions and they used Panthers as their main force. Mines and heavy AT warded them off, but they could get out just fine.
The cycle: Send Panther in, destroy all vehicles with ease, retreat at light speed, REPEAT = VET PANTHERS |
