The pathfinders are baller, the extra vision is great and recon planes/arty are always useful.


The only thing I don't like is pathfinder arty call in is insanely expensive. Should be more like 80 munis.

Yeah, I like those things too and I have fun with the doctrine when I play with friends but I don't think I could justifying picking it over another doctrine if I were trying my hardest to win. I like what Cruzz did to the commander in his mod. Nerfed canister, buffed the main gun, removed the AT gun from the para drop and made it 700mp with a 33% chance of getting each upgrade instead of the 66% for zooks that it is now. Commander feels so much more rounded.

Edit: oh and I think he gave the I&R pathfinders one sniper rifle like the regular pathfinders have.

I think they should remove button, buff their penetration by a lot, and remove the dp upgrade (maybe put it on penals with no button). I feel like guards should be the soviet's infantry based AT option which are vulnerable to AI. Currently they're more like an AI squad that protects sniper openings from scout cars and then proceeds to hand over weapons for the rest of the game.

I just think axis HMGs just need slightly more aoe suppression and I'd like to see the maxim lose a little dps in exchange for a little aoe suppression. Not sure what to do about the .50 cal.. 5th man might work.

Hmm, shreks on sturmpios does seem to make more sense but that would leave volks in the same awkward position cons are in. I guess okw at least have the option of other non doctrinal infantry so it wouldn't be as bad.

I'm hearing a lot of you saying that you'd like to see the shrek nerfed rather than allied AT buffed for fear of infantry blobbing being too effective and while I completely understand that sentiment, I'd rather see allied AT buffed and blob control weapons (hmgs) better at discouraging blobs if that's an issue.

I feel like infantry upgrades should be useful and effective at their given rolls. It should be exciting to see a weapon on the ground; a small win for whoever picks it up and a noticeably lost asset for whoever dropped it. Especially if munis are involved.

Some of the weapons in game are currently like that and some are not. If I see an lmg-34 on the ground, it's like getting a star in Mario. I will change my current strategic objective, some times to the point of recklessness and go out of my way to pick it up. I'll make the fight about getting that weapon if I can (it's pretty broken lol). If I see an lmg-42 or shrek on the ground, I think "Oh hell yeah!" and try to pick it up asap. If I see a BAR on the ground, my volks get giddy and I try to pick it up if possible but I won't do so recklessly. If I see a bazooka on the ground I think "Meh, I guess my volks have a free slot, maybe I'll pick that up after the fight." If I see a ptrs on the ground, I either walk past it or think, "I wonder if there's a DP hiding under that."

Don't get me wrong I definitely don't want hordes of zook rifles roaming around. I just think there is enough room in the disparity between allied and axis infantry AT that a middle gorund could be reached. Maybe reducing schrecks effectiveness at range while also buffing zooks and PTRSs a little at the same time.

It's just that allied infantry AT is hardly a deterrent at the moment. I've seen panthers charge through a squad of double zooked infantry to get at a M36, succeed, and still have time to get away far too often.

This. I don't want to see bazooka blobs either but there's room to buff them. Two zooks on a rifle squad makes them fairly meh against infantry anyway.
