I really don't understand why people think the molotov is a bad grenade. I personally love them; they are incredibly cheap and cause massive amounts of area denial in addition to the very deadly fire crits.
When playing Soviets in 1v1, if it's about 10 minutes in and my opponent has a lot of low HP squads and I know he doesn't have medics, I spam molotovs all over the place.
I don't think the Molotov itself is bad, just that the animation is a bit too long now. The dps in the game in general has gone up enough that the super long throw animation doesn't make as much sense as it used to. Sometimes even if you get a good flank off, depending on what's focus firing the flanking squad, you risk losing the cons while the guy throwing the molotov hops around like some deranged Russian Easter bunny delivering flaming goodies to his little German children. |
Erm…. sorry Cruzz, but they don't all work like the P47.
I regularly use the Stuka Anti Tank strafe, which similarly to the P47, does 3 passes. However I have yet to witness it target something well outside the targeting area. I use it most team games, and it always stays within the area, or at least within a few meters of it. The P47 regularly goes whole sectors over its boundaries.
They do. I've had JU-87s follow me too and kill my jacksons. It sucks but it's not unique to the p-47. You mostly only notice it when it happens to you. |
My top two would be flak emplacement and irregulars (I don't have partisans though so not sure). Flak emplacement is just hilariously easy to decrew and really has no use and irregulars are fun in a hipster kind of way with their awesome nades and better than combat engi dps at long range for the price but... Irregulars are so squishy and aren't good at harrasment or supporting cons really. I've been trying to make them work in games with friends lately but that commander just feels so weak. |
And this is why we've seen it on every single game on the $1000 tournament
Yup, partisans are so good that half the units in the game are actually partisans in disguise and we just don't know it. Is that a tiger tank or partisans...? We may never know... |

AT rifle nades for USF are the worst for this. Sometimes the delay is massive. |
Any one use the irregulars doctrine much? Irregulars are strange in that they're partisans that come with garunteed lmgs, can't spawn from buildings, get regular nades, and at nades when researched. Their long range dps is actually not terrible for a 190mp squad that doesn't cost munis to upgrade. They're no obers of course but they're fun for a change of pace. I just wish rapid conscription worked on them as they die so easily. All in all the commander sucks but it's fun to use some times. |
I'm 100% for reducing the number of random squad wipes for both sides but from a balance prespective, indirect fire is currently the only way allies have to punish forward med truck placements, especially in team games. As long as it remains effective with a combined arms push, I'm all for reducing the number of complete squad wipes. |
I would like to see
Bazookas: medium accuracy, medium pen, medium damage, medium rate of fire
Shreks: low accuracy (at long range), high pen, high damage, low rof
Ptrs: high accuracy, low pen, low damage, high rof
Currently it's:
Bazookas: low accuracy, low pen, medium damage, medium rof
Shreks: high accuracy, high pen, high damage, low rof
Ptrs: high accuracy, low pen, low damage, medium rof |
Yeah, regardless of okw late game strength, something needs to be done about the bazooka. It was madening watching shot after shot miss while that flak half track and later luchs shredded everything. |
