Thread: What is up with the pzkpfw V Panther ?23 Jan 2014, 18:13 PM The ISU-152 is clearly a situational weapon. Depending on the map it can be almost useless to overpowered (Pripjat). Back to the Panther: I would really like to see some changes that reward the skilled use of a Panther and punish the player that rushes it in. With this I mean increased range, slightly better frontal protection in exchange for a slight HP nerf and certain penetrations to its sides and rear from any AT weapon, or at least something in that direction. Imo the Panther should be something you keep in the distance and as soon as it gets close to the enemy, you should be in trouble keeping it alive. In: COH2 Balance

I don´t know what you mean by "handle it with ease". But if those two T-34/76 or M4 with 75mm gun meet that Panther frontally, they are fucked. Panthers had superb frontal armor. The sides were a weakpoint, but that´s why crews tried to keep a distance to the enemy. In my opinion this is totally wrong depicted in the game. The front armor of the Panther seems meh at best and lolrushing your Panther into the enemy is common. In: COH2 Balance

If the panther got nerfed there would not be anything other then tiger/elefant to keep from getting steamrolled, especially when there is more than one su 85. +1 Don´t worry. You aren´t the only one having problems with the need to lolrush in your Panthers to fight SU-85s. This is not only silly but engine damage is certain. Any soviet with half a brain will have a mine, at nade, ram, button at hand to make sure you can´t get away. In: COH2 Balance

Reason for that is, that a SU85 is going to outrange both Panzer IV and Panther anyways and that the Panther can´t even hard counter T-34s. There´s always the danger of getting rammed. This means either way (T-34 or Su-85) the Panther needs babysitting. Making it weaker or more expensive would only make late game balance worse. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Is the STUG truly useless??19 Jan 2014, 12:33 PM Sometimes I use it. However I think the Panzer IV is better for cost. The obvious weaknesses of the StuG are that a SU-85 will defeat it and a T-34 can flank it. The 40 manpower and 20 fuel more for a Panzer IV are usually better spent. This gives you the ability to flank SU-85 and prevent getting flanked from T-34. I pretty much use the StuG only as an emergency vehicle when lacking fuel (happens sometimes when facing Soviet industry), but then never alone. It´s also useful to counter the T-34/85 pair. If the German player didn´t go T4 his only chance to win is a Tiger. StuGs aren´t that great as they get two-shot by the IS-2. However if you go T2 and even T3 heavy as German and think you have enough AT, you will have heavy trouble versus an IS-2. Tigers on the other hand have to retreat when facing ZIS guns. Compare a belt fed MG with 1250 rounds per minute to a 50 shell drum MG. I think even a person like you can do the math. Thread: Strategy in Company of Heroes 215 Jan 2014, 21:03 PM While we are at skins: I´d appreciate it, if there was access to the three-colour tank camouflage (e.g. the one the Germans used on almost all their tanks in 1944) on heavy tanks, for people owning only the basic game. Right now this camo scheme is only available for light vehicles and medium tanks without paying. For the heavy tanks I have to choose either none, or the ugly green with brown grid. It´s very frustrating to not have the regular - real - camo scheme on all your vehicles available. My heavy tanks all look ugly. But I think that was the point behind the camo schemes. Not giving access to nice ones on your heavies without paying. Why the medium and light tanks get it, and the heavy ones not is beyond me. In: Lobby

Are these beta changes? With that statement I meant: Su85 have longer range than Panthers. Which is bullshit. Compare Zeiss optics with optics that have air bubbles. Guess who could shoot further with more precision. Also how was my commentary off topic? What I was trying to say is that an ace would be much more harder for Germans to counter as they don´t have: Ram, spammable mines, button, mark target and more range on their StuG. All combined, nice solutions to cripple the Tiger Ace. I´m not saying the Tiger ace is balanced, but a Russian ace would be over the top ridiculous and bullshit. Yes, even more than a Tiger ace.
