Thread: Tiger Ace Explained12 Nov 2013, 16:56 PM Oh , a German tank that can finally own Russian tanks? Blasphemy. xD Very interested to see that Tiger Ace. The thing that really made me rage so far in this game was that SU-85s could sit back and snipe. This was totally ignoring historical facts - as this was what the Germans did, not the Russians. With increased range on the Tiger ace this shouldn´t be possible any longer. Imo Germans should all be about quality and less quantity. Thus I welcome this unit. Tbh. it doesn´t sound very balanced. If the game is very close this could be an I win button. But let´s see. In: COH2 Gameplay

Either getting stomped as Russian on a crucial point of a close game; but also as a German whose teammate has taken the commander. I can already see it: "Dude, help me, I have no pioneers left. Most of these vehicle kills were T-34s btw. and with 10k kills within the last year of the war a huge chunk of the ever increasing number of T-34/85s was lost to StuGs at least. There were only 10k StuGs produced btw. A Panzer IV with the same gun and armor as the StuG should be expected to perform - even if not as good as StuGs - better than a T-34/85. Germans had the advantage of fighting in defensive positions but also could deliver the first shot because of better optics, a flatter trajectory, better crews. This point is actually often overlooked, but with a difference in the vehicles performance so marginal - this might be the most important point. The T-34 was also the most lost tank of the war. I think most people here aren´t complaining about an OP Maxim but an UP MG42. As of now it can´t fight on it´s own. If you always have to support it, you sacrifice a lot of mobility: Not enough that you didn´t build a Grenadier for that 240MP - no, you need another Grenadier to babysit your MG. And even then it´s performance is rather "meh". I´m better off getting out two Grenadiers. In fact half of the games I don´t even get a MG42. One ammo cache and you can use Grens with LMGs. How can that be balanced? The Tiger Ace better have 60 range and 1shot T-34s for stopping the whole income. I mean one Su-85 can hurt a regular Tiger pretty hard with it´s range. Stopping the whole income means you don´t have cap power if you lose some units. Reinfocring is impossible at some point and repairing doesn´t help either. What if you are out of pioneers and drive over a mine with the Tiger ace? They better make it like the Kingtiger in Coh1 or with a huge price - no income stop. Other than that I´m interested in this doc. Quality for Germans, quantity for Russians. I like that. Maybe we will finally see a Tiger not getting outperformed by some Su-85s. In: Lobby
Thread: Overpowered Maxim Video Evidence7 Nov 2013, 14:04 PM All I can say: WW1 MG = supressing with one (close range) or two bursts Best MG of WW2 = supressing with two (close range) to three bursts, squads can uraah into it and the whole Russian community will go bonkers if it actually does it´s job. Fucking double standards. I shit on the 42s wider arc. It needs to do it´s job. With the wider arc the MG42 can atm be incompetent at it´s role on a wider field - not cool. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: CoH2 Patch News!6 Nov 2013, 21:18 PM Kinda sceptical about the Commissar squad. The last time a commander was introduced with auras for troops was with the British in CoH1. We all know how this ended - huge blobs. Now Commissar squads with stackable auras + blob + Molotov + Uraah + crappy MG42s = lol ??? Better not. In: Lobby
Thread: CoH2 Patch News!5 Nov 2013, 17:00 PM I don´t think that buffing the T-34/85s penetration is a good thing. Why should it be able to go through the Panthers armor even easier? That´s bullshit. The cost decrease and reload decrease would be enough imo. Nice to see that the Tiger and IS-2 get 60 (they do have 50 atm, right?) range on vet two, although the Panther could also need it. At least those stupid Su-85s can´t outrange vetted Tigers any longer. The flexibility to Russian early gameplay is very welcome as they became very boring over time. In: Lobby
