If Flame truck got Vet2 it means that it got fed too much in the early game as the only option for that unit to get Vet is by killing stuff (right?).
Go for right counter and try not to engage in pointless skirmishes.
Actually (at least this was the case in beta, I'm not a keeper of stats) the exp gain was much more on damage received than on damage dealt. So if you were going to attack a HT with AT grenades, you had to make sure that you brought enough munitions to the fight to finish the job or you were going to give massive veterancy to the HT. This might have been reworked since then. |
no they only have 60muni mega multiple nades (satchel like area with less damage)
Uh, so then if they spam these guys, a flaming clown car will eat their lunch. |
I haven't played the new patch yet, nor have I played against this doctrine. Do these assault grens get fausts? |
How to kill snipers:
-Mortar halftrack (at worst you'll slow down their dps because they have to relocate after every shot to be safe... at best you'll get a chance to drop a fire mortar on them which usually burns them up before they can retreat through it)
-Regular mortar (less effective than HT)
-Panzerwerfer (even with sprint, the rockets come down so fast it's nearly impossible to dodge with command lag... one hit means goodbye sniper)
-Scout car flank in midgame
Things that need to be changed:
-Don't allow the sniper to get in the car, because that's stupid. |
It's not a waste of an MG if it's camping a fuel point. That's not hard to do in 2v2. 1v1 is a completely different story, of course, and on most maps it's not hard to cap around. |
This forum has gone way downhill since launch. The number of personal attacks is retarded, and it's all generated from a few... vocal... individuals. And for the record, I've never posted anything that said "just flank it" in regards to an SU-85. Then again, I've also posted that I'd like to see the sight ability on the SU-85 removed as well, because it's cheap. But those are all just my opinions. |
I find that Grens with LMGs handily beat Shocks for cost over the long term in a war of attrition. Shocks cost almost as much as 2 Grens. Sure 2 sets of LMG42s are very expensive, but it's a one time fee in contrast to the constant man power drain of reinforcements.
HMG42s were overnerfed. If they buff HMG42s back a bit, then lmg42s may be toned down. Pretty much every top German player now is going pure Gren spam now.
Yeah, this. MG42 needs its suppression bumped up. It was fun at first because it was a pretty big cheese unit before, but I think the nerf took it too far in the other direction with the suppression. The unit isn't worth the cost now. Then they can work on LMGs. |
I just lost a 2v2 to this. It's some pretty hardcore cheese. Without picking the right doctrine, I have no idea how you're supposed to counter it on certain maps. The thing had LOS on a huge radius of the map. In a vacuum, maybe you could counter it with Guard button plus an SU-85 plus AT guns. But it's not like you'll ever be fighting it unsupported against anyone with a brain. I had the ISU-152, and it was rendered completely worthless because the elefant was trashing it at equal range. Our SU-85s had no chance against it either. With that and the recon runs, the other team had constant line of sight to pretty much the entire map to see where we were positioned.
Whenever I manage to kill an elefant, it's usually when catching it on retreat with a button (rare) or by hitting it with the howitzer. As others have mentioned, the unit itself is fine, but it's a problem when combined with the rest of the doctrine. |
no need to exaggerate. we all know the lmg is good, but it doesnt do 240 damage "almost immediately". even within 10m it only does 17 dps. ill let you do the math.
Does that include the dps from the other models? Regardless, you're probably not going into the fight with perfectly full health conscripts, and it's been my observation that it's not effective to step out of cover to throw a molotov. I usually lose a minimum of 2 guys before the grenade goes off.
At any rate, I just do what I said in my first post... avoid them until I get a proper counter. Why would I go up against a unit that's a perfect counter to my unit? I don't go into fights that are going to lose me the manpower war. |
The only problem with molotovs is that the conscripts usually have to step out of cover to throw it. You'll lose half the squad almost immediately. If you happen to be fighting at a distance that's within the throw range, it's a pretty effective deterrent. |
