Thread: SNF Tiger Ace news27 Jan 2014, 09:47 AM As some of you may already know pquisieh has given us some news about the upcoming Tiger Ace nerf. So for people who may not have seen it here is a rundown: -Bringing it in line with core Tiger(same vet modifiers but comes out vet 3) -Keeps strong coaxial gunner. -Adding unique abilities(they have been playing around with giving it target weakpoint) -NO LONGER FREE (800 manpower initial call-in, no fuel) -Still an economy drain, but goes away upon death Remember everything is subject to change as testing is still in progress. I didn't notice the impact this has too much in 1v1s or 2v2s, but its quite rediculous how many bunkers go up in 3v3/4v4 games which must then be cleared painfully slow by mortars, flamers, a vulnerable sis or penals if you happen to have t1. Why not just give them to both sides like vcoh was?? Or to neither side in the case of Brits and PE. It baffels me more than anything. Most likely one of the things that justifies germans having only 4 men in a squad. In: COH2 Gameplay

Besides that the point is that a molotov in a trench is a 100% chance to neutralise, either forcing a retreat or killing everyone inside. Unless we give Grenadiers a trench-clearing weapon, they'll be Soviet biased. I have no idea why they gave trenches to the germans. It's near useless with all the ways soviets have of clearing buildings. They should have just given them to the soviets where they could actually be put to some use. Although maybe they'll be useful if they ever add another faction that can't clear buildings as well. In: COH2 Gameplay

But if those two T-34/76 or M4 with 75mm gun meet that Panther frontally, they are fucked. Panthers had superb frontal armor. The sides were a weakpoint, but that´s why crews tried to keep a distance to the enemy. In my opinion this is totally wrong depicted in the game. The front armor of the Panther seems meh at best and lolrushing your Panther into the enemy is common. Maybe they should give the panther more of a Tank destroyer treatment. Raise it's range, but then reduce it's health. That would allow for it to still be pretty deadly without making it impossible to take out in numbers or if you actually manage to flank it with T34s. Just sayin, that's a pretty glaring weakness. Plus, soviet mines should be everywhere. Those are hardly glaring weaknesses. Everything is vulnerable to mines, but they are hardly reliable, especially with the panzerwerfer in the same building , they don't last long where you need them most and unless the german player is making a mistake attacking the rear on the fastest tank in the game is not an easy task. In fact, this is a weakness of all tanks and the panther being the faster and having blitz can exploit this far easier then the soviets can to it. For comparison, the tiger while it is even more durable and has more offensive power is rather slow. So SU-85's and AT guns have more time to turn and attack before being flanked and is more likely to be hit by artillery due to size. The panther suffers from none of this. The panther SHOULD be vulnerable to AT infantry, but we all know that such a thing doesn't really exist for the soviets. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: German Sniper Vulnerability21 Jan 2014, 20:44 PM There is a disadvantage with the 2 man soviet sniper that I think a lot of people overlook, which is that when the first man dies, it takes 90 manpower to reinforce while when the german sniper takes the equavalent damage, he only needs to heal up. If that happens consistantly, it can be a bit of a drain on resources. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: What is up with the pzkpfw V Panther ?21 Jan 2014, 20:35 PM There is a much deeper problem in the AI vs AT balance and I don't think the devs are going to realize it till they try to add more factions. I doubt the second axis faction will be as reliant on tanks as the current germans, and I think they will end up having to redo a lot of balance when the time comes. As for the panther right now, it really needs to become more vulnerable. Right now it has both armor and health that gives it way too much survivabilty since it's also the fastest tank in the game and most soviet AT is slow and directional anyway. I'm not saying nerf it into the ground, but it needs to be changed into a unit that is still a good at weapon, but actually has a disadvantage that the soviets can exploit. In: COH2 Balance

Almost all teamgames end with germans just spamming them non-stop and there really isn't anything the soviets can do even though it's such an obvious and cheap tactic. Russians have enougg AI tanks available to them already. I like the idea of an upgun for the t34 The same can be said for almost everything in the soviet arsonal and I really don't think anything is going to change until they start adding new factions. While this sort of balance might work for the current two factions they will be hard pressed to balance the soviets against a less armor reliant axis faction. In: COH2 Balance
