I'll disagree on principal if anyone asks to make the Scout car like the Puma's 20mm autocannon. That thing was a ridiculous starcraft style counter weapon that has no place in a CoH game.
I do think it could do some interesting things though, such as ignoring yellow or even some green cover, or just the accuracy modifier. After all, those 20mm cannons could shoot through most infantry cover. However, it would still be not quite as accurate overall against infantry as it is against vehicles.
This would allow the scout car with 20mm upgrade to play something of an early siege weapon. With its MG and 20mm firing from long distance, stationary, to apply good damage over time. So the t70 is ok but the Germans having an equivalent is not?
Thiss.. is why the player population is dwindling. The Soviet preference players want the german side to be a push over faction and seems Relic agrees. If Germans had 6 man Knight cross Holders in t1, Soviet preferenced players would be in an uproar. However most of them believe if you name them shock troopers and give them to the Soviet side its fine..Or if you name the puma t70 it's fine. |
My main gripe with it is that its more cost effective heavy arty for Sovs, while Germans have very little to respond with. Sov mortars turn into a arty piece with vet while german mortars have a vet ability that may or may not even work, and it disables regular firing. |
Kiting does not imply not taking a single bullet. Ofc you will.
The point is to stay at max range and then retreat it for repair when health approaches about half.
SC is not a tank. It's not supposed to be run into the enemy.
Kiting is useless since it takes small arms fire damage and out-ranges nothing, only reason to kite is to not get at naded. And it takes more damage then it gives so whats the point of building it except vs m3s? |
And the stug was a more than capable weapon. Which it was pre nerf.
I agree the role reversal thing is just silly. Germans have to rush and flank tanks while soviets can outrange Germans. As Germans you almost have to suicide tanks to be able to even get close to do damage. The soviets simply outrange, outnumber and outperform every German counterpart. P4s can barely even deal with 1 t34 anymore.
Panthers have to rush a su 85 to win. You can only beat Soviet
Heavy tanks with Heavy tanks. Most Soviet heavy tanks will wipe out small german squads in 1 shot, while all German heavies have lackluster anti-infantry performance.
The Brummbar which is suppose to be the cream of the crop of German anti infantry, barely kills 1 unit per shot and relies on luck to actually get any kills, while the 152 has almost artillery range and will wipe any inf out in one hit. The Brummbar is less effective than a t70, not even close to the effectiveness of a kv-8.
I once read the lead designer explain they built the army they felt they would need to fight a war. Clearly they only meant Soviets. Germans have no light armor, infantry has no regular grenades. Only one non off map barrage weapon in late game, which costs as much fuel as a tank. No elite infantry, no effective recon units.
Soviets also have lots heavy arty, while Germans can only call on railway arty for heavy bombardment.
The disparities between the 2 armies are huge. The complete domination of Soviets in Snf cleary shines a light on this. |

There was a sprint ability on one of the leaked commanders. So it seems like relic already has something similar in the works.
The ability as it is can be very potent when used in an offensive and is pretty cheap considering. Any cheaper and it would be far too spammable. Like oorah? |
they once were able to deal with t70s in pairs. Now they get killed by being sneezed at. They are more fragile then a kettengrad and cost fuel.......if they were welded on top of a Stug III e with an arty officer behind the wheel and had a counter barrage ability they would be just as effective/useless.. |

Man Im not sure what happened, but the last week using tiger ace, it kept getting engine damaged with one ram, or one 7mp mine or at nade. Take 2 or 3 mins to repair engine damage. The last game I played the gun was destroyed with one ram. I not sure if the criticals on this thing got ninja'd, but it is insanely easy to cripple. Even popping smoke doesn't negate ram on it anymore. Or maybe that's just bugged. |
