People prefer Germans for the cool factor. Don't understand why people can't easily come to that conclusion. People still played P.E. after they were completely neutered with the nerf bat. I play mostly Germans because thats the faction I wanted to master first. But the snobbery of people who play mainly Soviets made me never want to play them... ever... ever.. ever. I mean if anyone has opinions on a actual or perceived balance issue in favor of the Soviets, some players act as if they were physically molested. |
Well the official forums are a Sovfanboy lovefest. You will get all the "buff the isu 152/su-85/t34/t34-85s etc etc" you can eat, all whilst having plenty heapings of nerf the Elefant,Tiger,Pioneers etc etc... that your belly can handle |
I constantly get 1 shotted by shock nades. Those thinks have the blessing of the rng gods. I have seen bundled nades 1 shot but it is amazingly rare. Most of the time it kills 1 to 3 entities. |
A user of shock troops who waits to get suppressed before throwing a smoke grenade can probably be beat by using grens alone. A player who knows how to use shocks, will smoke before getting suppressed and run into your face full bore. |

This is only possible if you have a spotter and you started packing up before they popped smoke, or else they will be on your ass like white on Susan Rice.

The mg has been effectively Panzer Elited. There is no coming back from that... until coh3. Worse than cons is Shocks, which seem to snipe the gunner all the time, and then you can't retreat fast enough not to lose the mg. I think all Germans players should get together and have a memorial service for the once mighty mg42. |
Scout cars are absolutely not useful. Why build one when you can just build grens, which kill better and survive longer and only costs a little more. There is absolutely no additional benefit to the scout car except vs m3s. Its not a soft or hard counter, it's just a placeholder. Half traks without the flame upgrade kills better and survives longer then a scout car. This unit does not fulfill recon, combat or capping roles and is only a manpower and fuel sink. |
All the stugIII are bad comments are honestly a sign of how spoiled Germans are when it comes to tank battles in coh2. Stugs are more powerful AT than panzers but are harder to use due to the nature of assault guns but Germans don't "need" to use them because panzers panthers and tigers do very well AT wise. Soviets have had to use assault guns (or at guns) since release if they want to have any hopes of reliably killing a German tank and as such people that play Soviets have learned how to deal with it. Do you think its any less annoying for an su85 to get circle strafed by a panther or panzer than it is for a stug to get the same treatment from a t34? Actually the stug is probably better off since its cheaper
This a joke? It can't fight off infantry.It CAN only beat a t34, assuming it gets first shots. Rarely does any tank other then a t34 need to circle strafe a Stug 3. In order to get any use out of it it needs a vet 1 ability. Which for a tank that is already weak sauce is not a given.
Oh poor little you all you have is an Su 85... whatever shall you do. I know, sit back and see and tank snipe everything then hit reverse when in trouble. |
Looking at the official forums, the general consensus is that Soviets are too weak. I see calls for buffs to Su 85s and Isu 152s. Then nerf Elefants, panthers, Tigers and p4s. I saw one that said the scout car was easily capable of handling a Su 85 on it's own..... There may be some tweaks here and there, but it's quite obvious Ostheer will never again be formidable, but only just good enough to keep it's head above water. |

seriously relic get your act together and make s-mines 1 quadrant for 25 munis Rifle grenades are actually pretty good, but only if you are spamming them. I once thought they were underwhelming but if you can actually focus on getting munitions and spamming rifle nades at every chance possible they work wonders. 2 or 3 grens , split them up, drop 2 rifle nades and then getting close to a garrisoned building will usually kill a mg in a building. If you have 3 grens and 3 nades, the unit in the building won't be able to get away alive. |
