Great synergy with both Reigal Mine and Recon Run to kill immobilized tanks or repairing tanks spotted by plane. You don't need AP round with Elephant in doctrine that penetrates everything... I do think that Recon Plane is kind of superfluous with spotting scopes in doctrine but Jaeger Armor is already super meta so it's not like it needs more buffs by giving it a better ability than Recon Run. Stuka bomb definitely needs to go so the doctrine isn't anti howitzer. It's not the at strafe it's the ai strafe they want to replace ot with. And jaeger armors mean Hunting tank not exactly tank hunter but more like the armor thats jaeger. I'm saying flairs would have to come from 251 HT. Sure the recon would be better but difficult(slightly) to use. And it fits the theme of a hunting armor better. In: Lobby

Their bombing strikes will be replaced by the JU-87 AT strafe (the single pass) and the IL-2 AI strafe (the single pass) respectively in order to tone down the versatility of these commanders and to create more room for counterplay with heavy indirect fire. The latter will likely also be buffed/fixed a bit in the next patch, given how it works a bit weird atm. Why not just outright remove Aircraft abilities from that doctrine. Remove recon, replace it with a flare launched from 251 or something. remove strafe all together there is nothing Jager Armor about that ability. Replace it with ap round. In: Lobby

I think what Etheral was referring to is that Axis can get cheap okayish AA even without buulding a dedicated unit, whilr Allies are usually forced to build one. I never said recon plains were OP or anything it's just that ost aa is quite unreliable of dealing with any aerial ability. I don't think I'v ever seen my 222 or ostwind shoot down p47 AT planes or Typhoons while in action but have seen my JU87D getting plucked from the air by quads. In: COH2 Gameplay

Also, Spec Ops flares would like to have a word with you. I get your point, the way say this. It makes me think you never played ost. You'd realize no allied aerial ability ability ever gets shot down as fast it happens the other way around even if had tanks with pintles, 222 and even Ostwinds. In: COH2 Gameplay

Alright, whats next? Long range firefights vs grens are not optimal, you still bleed and take damage from less expensive squad, allowing ost to bring another one and even relocate HMG. This was the point, that you shouldnt fight grens at long range. Because you will lose in a long run doing so, especially when both rifles\penals destoy grens at mid to close range. Its like saying "Well Sturmpios will win vs combat engis and rears at long range", but only utter retard will use them in this manner if there is no nessesity to do so. But you said they don't win. I wasn't arguing over weather you should or should not fight Grens at long. Just pointing out the fact that Rifles and Penal do win at long/max range vs grens. In: COH2 Balance

Winning an engament doesnt mean you have won strategically. It doesnt matter if you win this long range stalemate cover to cover, because you will lose hell of a lot time and possibly take unnessery loses in models\HP. Thats why you don't want to fight grens at long range with penals and rifles. m8 what I said was a fact nothing more or nothing less. It's his fault for being wrong/oblivious and being stubborn to boot. As for why.. There could be situation you might have to the margin at witch Rifle/Penals win vs Grens at long range justifies the mp cost(it's not 1 model remaining). In: COH2 Balance
