I like how IS2 started with lesser gun range, to equalised after both vetted.
IS2 has the new explosive ability while Blitz on Tiger is questionable, does blitz even blitz on heavy now? And against 60TD....
Tiger have faster gun, but other factors like IS2 faster repositioning and faster gun tracking, it is not so clear cut in heat of battle. That is you need to lock on the target first before the next processing.
But IS2 higher armor and slightly higer pen are more clear cut advantages in battle.
Tiger follows the theme of less pen in Wehr arsenal. |
Yes I would say Jp4 is in a limbo spot. I see less Okw willing to pay the price for it.
I wont use it against Usf or Brit at least for those going with cromwell and comet. Tank commander upgrade +sight +accruacy with the speed. Jp4 is sitting duck.

Pen buff using HEAT will put pressure on Allies heavies and we see less complains about churchills IS2 and what not.
It affects nothing else.
Perfect. Solution.
another point about cost effectiveness, Panther wasted 2 vet XP on blitz and useless +10% armor. |
Pen buff using HEAT will cost ammo and must be managed with cooldown and all. Thats my suggestions.

Glad we are getting somewhere again.
I think Panther needs a pen buff. So does Stug so does P4.
Panther pen is good but not excellent. When allies 60TD pen can scale so much better with vet, so much it invalidates Panther vet armor...so much Wehr tanks (besides Elefant) have trouble pen Allies heavy armor...roles have switched, no?
Tiger pen is not excellent too....i mean worse than IS2?
Pen buff in the case of HEAT rounds at vet 2, you must also upgraded pintle to unlock. Pintle is weak for its price too.
I like the recognition panther vet2 armor skirts bonus are crap now. Blitz vet is also less crap, but less useful vet in comparison to others.
I will replace +10% armor with +10% HP and see how. It may help survive some deflected shots or handheld AT.
Or just simply give it +160 HP, but i doubt allies players will support this one. hehe |
I say the disparity in pen is more than accuracy. I mean 0.072 is pretty damn high already. Higher than panthers.
Sure allies needed pen, sure axis dont need that much pen..but these are old conventions imo. As started in my other thread, about allies do have armor values which are also high... Higher than what's expected with doctrine counters.
How much does focus sight help su85?
Thats the thing, allies seem to have access to stronger late game. And we are talking about jp4 okw, which are both superior to wehr arsenal's! |
If we are comparing the accuracy/reload vet bonuses by themselves, then yes. But the Jagdpanzer IV has better base stats (accuracy and ROF). The vet 1 ability and the vet 2 extra hitpoints are incredibly useful, especially when fighting other TDs. A vet 4 Jagdpanzer IV has the fastest reload and the highest accuracy in the game of any vehicle IIRC. The only thing its veterancy lacks is extra penetration, but that is on purpose.
Imo that's one issue. You define a unit on its based specs but then allies get bigger vet bonus and so closed down that specs while retaining its other specialists. In general that's how i feel and how allies seem to end the game stronger.

I will disagree on most of the above. I think this discussion has done good to open up the issues.
Started with the inadequate pen and moving further on cost effectiveness.
Panther mobility is nothing of amazing when you consider others effects in play. Pen, range, accuracy, vet bonus, rotation. Sure speed is good but i believe other cheaper allies tanks are similar or better. Yet panther AT capability is lacking for its cost and the whole unit is poor scaling.
The armor, besides invalidated against vet 60TD, is 50% lousy at 90/99. I started this topic purposely did not post those allies rear/side armor values, which will surprise all.
Only thing i agreed is the higher hp pool.
So what you did to handwave old thoughts i disagree. Today games do not match these dated conveniences. Let the past go, forgot it if you have to realise the issues at hand.
Like 50cal,dskh,tank commander > mg42 pintle. Small things not presented |
And what would a light tank achieve? Besides admitting Wehr infantry/team weapons/support/static design is weak, has been weak for many moons since the power creep?
Like we didnt know?
Does not helps with pen/late game issue at all. |
Not just HMGs, Incremental Accuracy (on the weapon) or a Received Accuracy penalty (on the blobbed squads) would also allow all normal weapons to deal additional damage, to simulate that missed shots would still hit other squads in close proximity. This would help make fighting blobs a bit easier as it would help equalize the pure volume of fire advantage blobs have.
Or most ideally, a CoH3 would be based on a new engine that supports advanced ballistics, that can simulate all small arms bullets so that misses by Rifles/SMGs/ARs/LMGs/HMGs can hit other models in close proximity.
Sounds good...but we see so much complains of Coh2 variables, of non-competitive plate, that many Coh2 stats have been moved to standardised numbers or ignored or confused.
And the fact Relic is getting smaller studio. I expect Coh3, if any, will have lesser stats and dumb down, in the name of, to attempt an excuse for competitive casting purposes.
Why make more complex formulas in your engine? Says new Relic head. |
