The doctrine would be a lot better if the ppsh package is replaced by elite bazookas. That way you can have some decent handheld AT to help in the late game where this commander is very weak.
I think he is referring to ppsh upgrade ability for guards which is free. |
Yea unit quite meh, they have too high cost, while don't have stealth and at-nades. Ppsh while free don't have tactic advantage ability, only these stupid suppressive fire ability and smoke nades. Really, squad that must act behind enemy lines have ability that work only when you have near friendly squad that could deal with debuffed enemy. Who make such horrible design?
Only DP-28 good, while don't have any special abilities. Button ability like guards have could be good.
I think it will be better that this unit will be like falls - 4 man stealth squad with bundle nades and at-nade with smoke grenade. Or like jaegers with mp40.
I'm not sure if balance team will agree to at nade infantry behind enemy lines especially when we already have partisans right now.
Yes button can be nice. Or stealth will be cherry on top. I wonder how did they infiltrate a damn house/building if they can't camouflage themselves? They also have sniper models so they have white uniforms in winter maps. |
Hi. Can we please modify that suppression Il2 strafe airborne guards have? I think it's quite gimmicky and it is of 60 munitions. It doesn't do any damage. Previously it did damage (it was quite OP but it shares a global cooldown kinda like pathfinders artillery.) but when balance team nerfed the damage they forgot to decrease the muni cost. Personally i think the ability performance doesn't do the cost justice.
I have a couple of suggestions how this unit can be improved.
1. Remove this ability and give a more potent grenade. Their present standard grenade is meh. Also they are the elitist squad in soviet roster with 380 mp. They deserve some better performance abilities.
I quite like how they can self heal when vetted up because they are an elite squad.
2. Increase the damage to the suppression strafe.
Or decrease the cost
Or increase the duration of suppression.
At this current time it's just a a waste of money. Kinda like false red smoke but that costs 60 munitions if I'm not wrong. |
Pgrens with g43's are an almost useless upgrade. Use sight blockers and smoke to get as close as you can while minimizing the damage, Shocks Troops should normally rip them apart like piranhas if they get too close, use grenades and avoid their grenades.
Always go for penals they are generally better than cons in almost everything and with vet 3 you don't even need a shock troop. TBH
Tightrope says pzgrens with g43s are quite good. Im sure i heard this in one of his casts. They get moving accuracy and can catch shocks coming at them. |
Il2 bombing strike is the slowest of all the offmap air strikes in the game. You need actual skill to execute this strategy. And it might back fire.
If someone can't dodge it its more likely a l2p issue |
ppsh penals are bullshit OP...they have OP dps at all ranges
How many times have you actually tried that? They don't have any body armor which means at close range enemy dps are also equally effective. And have more accuracy. Ppsh Penals get a tough time against sturms and stg volks. Try it out. |
I’m actually shocked that no one else is going for airborne. Your infantry is just so much better especially against Wehrmacht where your conscripts basically beats grens in all situations and guards in cover just shred everything, you can even go T-34-76 spam and still be able to kill heavy armor with ram+ IL-2, you can even have a ppsh squad in the scout car at one cp!
Oops did i just start a new meta...
Airborne guards are really good and handle everything except falls. That's because they are expensive and come at whooping 380mp. Also thr il2 rocket strafe is all luck. Sometimes it hits the building and nome of the rockets land. And voila you just lost your ramming tank. Compared to il2 bombs this is cheaper but more riskier.
Personally i think there should be an ability to make any building a forward HQ apart from the building which guards and engineers can build. |
As soon as grens get lmgs, svt cons struggle against them.
Also if the enemy is okw and happens to have falls, thats end game for soviets. |
Alternatively a sight cone can be added like the one su 85 has with a set up time. So it doesn't reveal flanking units etc. What say? |
And you couldn't outflank one dushka that had basically no infantry support? even though the dushka has one of the narrowest cones of fire in the game? No wonder you lose Panthers to AECs, likewise, a single SU-85 with no infantry to snare for it means free real estate, just flank the bloody thing, it's turretless.
"oh, but he does have infantry, and I just haven't bothered to mention them!" Well, then he's using combined arms, and you apparently are not. Zone the 120mm out, it'll lose vs any other mortar in the game, so just duel it into submission. I've already mentioned the Dushka's narrow cone of fire. (oh by the way, you're getting your ass kicked by an off-meta commander if he has both of those, good job.) And actually try using your entire infantry force to attack him, but I don't mean blob and A-move in front of his MG. Overwhelm him with micro, he's on the defensive, it's only natural he'll have the advantage.
You are wasting your time trying to put some sense. |
