USF doesn't have any SMG units with camo right? Why not rework Rangers into an ambush unit.

There's a reason the 2 (3 if you stretch it) meta doctrines are Overwatch, Luftwaffe Ground, (and Grand Offensive) and that's because they give you a Volk supplement at CP1/2/(0) so you don't die horribly trying to use your intended mainline infantry.

The fact that the only strategies even worth considering are ones that are attempting to have you use your mainline infantry as little as possible says all that it needs too about Volks.

I still propose trading their vet 2 for one of their vet4/5 utilities (Sight in cover would unironically be nice), and spreading combat bonuses between 1/3/5 with a buff to provide them acceptable late game.

Obers are fine where they are, they're basically an inferior version of existing doctrinal elite infantry that can be used to replace lost Volks or to prop up Volks a bit when you're running a doctrine that doesn't have Elite infantry.

Are assault guards still going to be bundled with M3 this patch? If so, can someone explain to me why that is? I mean it's certainly nice the first time around so that you can get an AA gun, but if you want another guards squad you have to get another M3 too. A bit rough on popcap. What would be wrong with the commander ability also including an ability to build them at the base for a reduced price (and obviously shared cool down with the active ability to prevent spam) is it part of the balance of the unit or is the code not able to support such a thing?

Edit: I think I may have the call in Halftrack mixed up with another. If so the Halftrack is still nice for a mobile reinforce and heal point but my point still stands about it being a little limiting forcing the purchase of the Halftrack with every assault guards.

Assault Guards aren't bundled with the M5 anymore in the balance patch. Though I struggle to find the purpose of Assault Guards now when Shocks and Partisans are just better versions of Assault Guards.

The T-34/85 is a fantastic tank and is perfect in it's current state. Touching it would be a massive mistake. Even if it's Vet 1 ability is a little irrelevant that's okay since it's such a minor issue at the end of the day.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the new M4C Sherman which is basically worthless at everything compared to it's peers. When looking at Soviet Armor options previously every one of them had a preferred role that they fulfilled. Specifically in this instance the M4C Sherman was a designated AT Premium Medium. Since the Firerate Nerf the M4C Sherman loses so much punch vs Armor that both the KV1 and the T-34/85 come anywhere from significantly outperforming to being at worst comparable in At capability even with HVAP. Not only that but the M4C Sherman both requires a 60 Muni upgrade to be able to even think about fighting infantry, and even then it pales in comparison to all other Soviet options available vs infantry, even losing to the KV1 in damage output.

There is literally no reason to ever want to build this unit anymore. it's actually completely invalidated in it's existence by both the T-34/85 and KV1 while it's attempting to solo as effectively the cornerstone of an entire doctrine by itself.
