Currently the Panzerschreck gets almost never chosen ( unlike flamer ) althought it is the only non doc infantry anti tank weapon OKW gets ( besides raketen ). Also a flamer is good at AI , so you basically would have a good AI squad that could march over mines. A Sturmpio with Schreck + Sweeper is neither good at AI nor AT. You missed a point here, the main reason why flamer engineers are more common than schreck sturmpios is because 1 sp squad is generally enough, while you need at least 2 of the other engineer squads for effective repair. So in their case you have room for sweeper on one squad and flamer on another. CE and pios still have the problem that they are pretty much unable to gain veterancy once upgraded with sweepers, unless they get lucky grabbing a dropped weapon. In: COH2 Balance

However I clearly remember that holstering panzerschrecks had some bugs in AA campaign, so better avoid that approach. Just look at how long it took to fix the panzerfüsiliers dropping one of their schrecks... In: COH2 Balance

And I believe the speed nerf plays a major role in it, the range nerf is just the icing on the top. Yes, the JT is still quite powerful in capable hands, but the non doctrinal alternative, a pair of JPs isn't too far behind, in fact even better in some situations. In ostheer's case the elephant is a no brainer due to lack of 60 range TD and in soviet's case the ISU is also a no brainer due to its combined AT/AI role paired with good range. In: COH2 Balance

As ullumulu also pointed out the sluggishness becomes quite problematic when you are trying to get away from combat, especially when the tank gets flanked. And before anyone would say 'just avoid such situations' obviously it's not that simple, otherwise everyone would use JT and this thread wouldn't exists. Also, the sluggishness becomes problematic when you are trying to hunt down a vehicle, cuz if they pay attention, then they can easily get their tanks out of JT's range after the first hit. This is the case where the far more mobile JPs perform better, but even the Elephant and ISU does so. In: COH2 Balance

These stats are valid for whole 30 seconds it takes for the upgrade to kick in. No longer the case, JT loses mobility buff in combat. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Why is the Jagdtiger so pointless11 Aug 2020, 10:44 AM For the TD role alone a pair of elite armour jagdpanzers seem more viable with the heat rounds and self repair. More mobile and less risky to use, only downside is spotting, unless you got a 221 around. In: COH2 Balance
